How the Vibe Magazine analysis helped me:

I have analyzed the Vibe magazine and have come to an conclusion that the music genre which I will do is RNB, and this is because I have seen how successful they are, how they have gained various range of age group and races audiences and have really succeed in sending out the message they wanted. Moreover, after looking at their Media Kit, I have seen how interesting RNB magazine can be for audiences as they don’t just talk about music and artists but they also provide fashion shows, advertises musical festival and many more elements.

How the XXL and Magazine analysis helped me:

By comparing the Vibe (R&B) and XXL (Hip Hop) music magazine, I have found that Vibe magazine does very well in terms of entertaining their mass audience by including more than one elements to ensure their audience enjoy their chosen elements such as fashion, lifestyle. Their magazine layout is very simple but attracts many through various colours in their issues. XXL on the other hand, has more of a niche male audience at certain age, their featured elements are a few that doesn’t attract many female audience. Although they are at the top of the chart of number 1 selling magazine, I think they have very dull background as they use the similar one for every issue with different artists.

Overall, after exploring both magazines, I will go with the RnB genre because I have found out that they tend to attract more audiences of various ethnicity and age as well as mixture of both gender due to the mixture of elements featured that is suited for both. With using different colour for every issues, it is sure that it will attract my audience unlike XXL Hip Hop magazine that uses same colour background, and is sure to make the audience get fed up of it and it has less chance of attracting new audiences.
