The School of Architecture has scheduled this continuing educa-

tion course so that it coincides with the celebration in Vicenza ofthe 25th Anniversary of the Vicenza Institute of Architecture. Wehope to facilitate the presence in Italy of some of the architectsthat during the past 25 years have spent a semester in VIA or par-ticipated in earlier European continuing education courses, andwish to celebrate their memories.

Celebrating 25 years of VIA

Twenty ve years ago the School of Architecture of the Universityof Florida made a profound commitment to the education of its stu-dents by starting an educational and research center in Vicenza, aWorld Heritage city at the center of the Veneto Region of Italy. Vi-cenza’s history --with such seminal architects as Andrea Palladioand Carlo Scarpa— contemporary cultural vibrancy, and perfectEuropean communications have proven ideal for the internationaleducation of 1844 architecture students and professionals.

In celebrating this milestone, the School wants to honor all con-tributors to VIA success, especially all the former students thathave given VIA its energy and reason for being. With this intentionthere will be a retrospective exhibit with selected samples of VIAstudent work and research from years past.

The exhibit, will take place on the facilities that the School main-tains in Vicenza, will open with a formal celebration and joyfulparty on Saturday September 4th, 2010, and will remain open tothe public until September 19th.

The School invites all participants in this CE course to the open-ing celebration and party that will take place in the afternoon ofSaturday September 4th, one day before the course starts. Theschool will offer a complimentary night stay in the Hotel

Due Mori in Vicenza to all participants that wish to partici-

pate in the events and will arrive to Vicenza that Saturday.

The School of ArchitectureInvites the continuing education participants to:
