INTRODUCTION This spreadsheet is intended for use in calculating energy savings produced by retrofitting a constant volume water source heat pump (WSHP) circulating pump to a variable pumping system using a VFD. Energy savings attribute to reductions in pump energy consumption. This tool can also be used to estimate savings from the following: Pump motor replacement with high efficiency motor Pump operating schedule INSTRUCTIONS Input data are inserted on the Inputs tab and the Pump Sch tab in cells highlighted with a yellow background. Input variables for both the existing and proposed system are provided. Input existing and proposed pump operating schedules on the Pump Sch tab. Copy and paste weather bin data to the Pump Sch tab. Weather Bin Data for use in this tool can be extracted from the weather export utility located at the link below. BinSize should be set at 5 degrees to match the bin data input field on the Fan Sch tab. Save the bin data to a separate Excel file.
