Research
• Pre 1850 Vests were cut as a sway back with the center back waist position 1¾ inches from the center back line
• Post 1850 Vests are cut with a straighter back shape and the center back waist is cut ½ inch from the center back line
• The 1900 Fashion Plate shows a similar Vest to the original used in the research
