Over 500 friends attend-ed and it was a spectacular event that concluded with a double rainbow in the sky above. ...National Trails Day...On June 6, Equinox

Preservation Trust held its first annual National Trails Day cel-ebration. This could not have been possible without the gener-ous support of our sponsors. The Mountain Goat provided a three-man tent by Mountain Hardware won by a lucky Trails Day partici-pant. Eastern Mountain Sports provided emergency whistles and Cliff Bars, which were prizes for our scavenger hunt. I would also like to thank John and Randy from The Vermont Bird Place and Sky Watch who led the birding hike, as well as Alan Calfee from Calfee Woodland

Susan Coons’ July 8 by-line was not only enjoyable but familiar as well. She discussed the problems she encountered while trying to communicate by phone with a Sirius Radio representative. Her call, as are most, was routed to their customer service desk in India. Now, I have no problem with the people of India, their culture or language, but it is often frustrating trying to communi-cate by phone.

I have experienced the same problem with the Dell Computer service people. Sometimes they get the order right and some-times they don’t, which only adds to the frustration. I found a solu-tion to this problem. One must ask for (demand) their U.S. office phone number. They do exist. Using that number, you get to speak with a real live American with whom it is quite easy to communicate. Somehow it is so much more satisfying being able to speak with some jolly soul in Alabama rather than someone in New Delhi. I hope this informa-tion helps.

National Trails Day evolved from the 1987 report of President Ronald Reagan’s President’s Commission on America’s Outdoors. The report recom-mended that Americans should be able to walk out their front doors and within 15 minutes, be on trails that take them through their cities or towns and bring them back without retracing any steps.

The first Saturday of every June is known as National Trails Day, inspiring the public and trail enthusiasts nationwide to seek out, discover, learn about, and celebrate America’s trail system. The Equinox Preservation Trust manages over 900 acres of land and the trail system owned by the Equinox hotel.

Service NotesArmy National Guard Pvt. Jimmy R. Jimenez has graduated

from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, OK.During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army

mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weap-ons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

He is the stepson of Shawn Giannetti of Forest St., Rutland, VT.

Army National Guard Pvt. Bradley S. Nichols has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mis-sion, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Nichols is the son of Carla Chaffee of Chaffee Lane, Putney, VT.

Mark A. Mandala, Retired ABC-TV Executive, Dies at 72

Mark A. Mandala, a retired ABC Television executive, died suddenly July 11 in Dorset, VT while playing golf. He was 72.

Mr. Mandala spent 32 illustrious years with ABC-TV and at his retirement in 1994, he was President of ABC Television.

Born in Downey, CA, Mr. Mandala maintained residences in La Quinta, CA, and Dorset, VT. He attended the University of Southern California and received a liberal arts degree.

He joined ABC in 1962 and over the next four decades, served in several increasingly responsible positions in sales and management in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and New York.

In 1982, he was promoted to President of the ABC Owned Television Stations and in 1986, he was promoted to President of ABC Television, which oversaw the television network, the seven ABC-Owned televi-sion stations, Entertainment, News and Sports sales and other ABC departments.

He was a member of the Dorset Field Club and the Citrus Golf Club in LaQuinta, CA. He was a prior member at Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, NY, and Bel Air Country Club in Bel Air, CA. He was an avid golfer who made great friends through life on the golf course.

He leaves his wife of 48 years, Joan Neely Mandala; three sons: Steve of Greenwich CT, Charlie of San Diego and Michael of Palos Verdes, CA; a sister, Cecelia Woodward of Lancaster, CA, and six grandchildren: Nicole Mandala, Kelly Mandala, Jack Mandala, Michael Mandala, Max Mandala and Katherine Mandala.

Tragic AccidentAs many of you have probably heard, there was a disastrous car

crash just outside of Brandon, VT, at about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 12. Darryl Davis, local owner of Curves for Women in Manchester, her husband, Rod Davis, and five of their foster children were traveling home from Montreal when their 2002 Ford Taurus station wagon col-lided head-on with an oncoming Dodge Pickup Truck.

Rod Davis and a 15-year-old foster daughter died at the scene. At this time Darryl and a foster son are at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, having undergone surgery, while the other three foster chil-dren were transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center, treated for minor injuries, and released. The names of the five foster children are being withheld due to State Department of Children and Families Restrictions.

Her friends at Curves for Women are currently doing all they can to help Darryl and her family in their time of need. The have set up a fund for donations at the local Chittenden Bank located at 4993 Main Street, Manchester Center, VT 05255, under the name of Karl Davis. All dona-tions are greatly appreciated.

Fellowship AwardedFran Bisselle, Head of Maple Street School, has been awarded a fully-

funded fellowship to the Klingenstein Center for Independent School Leadership’s 2010 Heads of Schools program at Teachers College, Columbia University. This distinguished award, granted to just twen-ty heads of school annually, provides independent school leaders with an opportunity for focused professional enrichment, renewal, and reflection.

For two weeks in January, visiting heads from around the world gather together at the Columbia University Campus for intensive study to examine educational issues and policies facing independent school educators. The Center attracts and selects educators who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishment or potential for excellence and equips them with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for informed and effective practice. The 2010 cohort includes Heads from all areas of the United States in addition to participants from Namibia, Panama, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Swaziland, Thailand and Turkey.

The Klingenstein Center is dedicated to improving the quality of independent school education by developing and strengthening lead-ership among teachers and administrators who work in independent schools in the United States and throughout the world.

Elizabeth (Spencer) and Gregg Charest are pleased to announce the birth of their first child, John “Jack” Spencer Charest. Jack was born in Providence, RI, May 23, 2009 and weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz., and was 20” long. Mrs. Charest is a 1997 graduate of Burr and Burton Seminary.

Pawlet Library Book Sale

The Pawlet Public Library will hold it’s 42nd annual book sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., on Saturday, July 25, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., on Sunday, July 26, at the Mettawee Community School, just off Vermont Route 30 on Route 153. There will be signs on the road.

Once again the sale will include thousands of books, including an expansive section of children’s books and a fine selection of rare and antique books, plus CDs, DVDs, puzzles and games. There’ll be a tradi-tional homemade bake sale and refreshments.

Chicken BarbecueWould you like a little relief

From My Corner—Susan J. Coons

...wages and retirement...Someone I know in California

worked several years after retire-ment for H&R Block in the spring doing income taxes. She was always fortunate enough to have well-pay-ing employment before she took early retirement. She was vested in the company she worked for and receives a tidy monthly pension.

Fifteen years ago she won $100,000 in a lottery, and invested the money wisely in stock and a little real estate. She lives comfortably, occa-sionally taking overseas trips, and can pretty much pick up and go when she and her husband feel like they want to get outta Dodge.

She calls me every other week or so during the spring, telling me how unfair the tax system has become. People on welfare, and with no income actually receiving refunds! She’s a flat, across the board tax proponent. I tried to explain to her that 10 percent of $1000 is a greater expense to someone with a low income than $10,000 is to someone with an income of $100,000.

She disagrees with me, and perhaps many of you as well. I was think-ing about this today on my way in to work. Long ride and lots of time to think.

As you are probably aware, California is in a very deep financial crisis.

This really aggravates my friend. I can understand. Arnold is paying state employees with IOUs. Try paying your phone bill with an IOU.Last Sunday she let me know what she thinks of teachers, who earn, in her mind, ridiculously high salaries. They attend paid seminars, have two months off during the summer, and most of them do a lousy job of teaching! She’s angry because, she insists, they receive their full pay for the rest of their life upon retirement. And it’s coming out of her tax dol-lars! Well, I don’t know one teacher who has that kind of ‘perk’.

Sure, there are lazy teachers; ineffective teachers; teachers who yell and scream (my daughter had one of those in fourth grade); burnt out teachers...but I’d say that 86 percent of the teachers who have our chil-dren in their hands are sincere, caring, educated, and willing to continue to improve their education in order to help their students. They put in long hours on weekends and week nights. They take difficult mandated classes during the school year to maintain their certification, some in more than one state, and have that homework piled on as well. They often give up their two-month “vacation” to work at a summer job, sometimes to pay for their own education, or take more classes.

If they’re conscienscious, they’re concerned about the well-being of their students and put extra effort into helping those who may have learning difficulties or suffer from emotional disturbances. For some students, the teacher is the only constant in their lives. These teachers often make purchases for students whose parents have nothing; they pay for less fortunate students on field trips; they buy school supplies when there are none; they buy books when there are none.

If good teachers did receive their full salary for the rest of their lives, I’d say “Great!”. They deserve it! But I think we should re-think what we pay congressmen and senators upon retirement! It’s the kind of money you and I will never see unless we win the lottery!

Paul Harris Fellowships Announced at Manchester Rotary Changeover Dinner

Rotary Club of Manchester held their annual Changeover Dinner on Tuesday, June 30, at Ye Olde Tavern. New officers announced for this year were president Lisa Souls, and president-elect Jim Lewis. Kathy Stone, as past-president, remains on the board.

Topics & Tangents at Equinox Terrace

Economy measures, wartime shortages, and charitable work were explored by Terrace resi-dents at their most recent Topics & Tangents discussion.

Rationing of commodi-ties during World War II was recalled by many. Gasoline was rationed, as were tires. Driving had to be restricted, and if a tire was damaged beyond repair, a replacement was not necessarily available right away. Many foods were rationed, and one family set up an exchange system with the neighbors: sugar for coffee, so that each family had a little more of what it could use.

Metals were in such short sup-ply that when one family’s refrig-erator broke down, replacement parts were not available, and a kind neighbor donated refrig-erator space. Scrap metal drives were organized, and all kinds of metal, including car bumpers, were donated to the war effort. With canned goods, one emptied a tin can, rinsed it out, removed both ends, inserted the ends into the can, and then stepped on the can to flatten it and make it ready for the next scrap metal collection.

“Bundles for Britain” was but one of many charities set up to provide for the needs of civil-ians in war-torn areas. Well-organized committees collected clean used clothing, mended it, and shipped it abroad.

The American Red Cross organized groups to make ban-dages for servicemen (one group met at the Dorset School), and to knit warm woolen garments for them. Socks, sweaters, mit-tens, and watch caps were turned out by industrious knitters—and continued, we hear, by a former Terrace resident who continued to knit watch caps and send them off to sailors, even in peacetime.

located in Belmont, invites you to an enchanting performance of “Alice In Wonderland” Friday, July 24, at 7 p.m. The Summer Encore Theater, in its 12th sea-son, presents this classic tale adapted by William Glennon. This new version is so close to the original in intention and feeling that you might suspect that Carroll himself had writ-ten it. And yet, it includes many unusual and imaginative stag-ing devices. Alice will have “her turn” in Wonderland and all the old favorites are there, including the Caterpillar, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the White Rabbit and, of course, the Cheshire Cat. The Encore Theater has added their own touch to the piece by mixing a Blue Man group feel to Wonderland.

Rutland High School’s Summer Encore Theater is directed by Cathy Archer, and is designed to provide students with a chance to be part of a positive, safe and fun learning atmosphere. The con-cept also encourages theater stu-dents to explore the complexities of life and to allow them to build an understanding and apprecia-tion of the many human differ-ences. Sanctioned Bridge Tourney to Benefit Southern Vermont Arts Center

For years, Irene supported its mis-sion to enrich this area’s cultural life through its visual and performing arts programs, exhibitions and youth outreach efforts. Haystack Hustler Seniors Host Bus TripAll area seniors are invited to travel, with Haystack Hustler Seniors,

on a bus trip, Wednesday, August 26. We will travel by Premier Bus to Sharon, VT, where we will visit the Viet Nam War Memorial Site. This is a beautiful memorial to all Vermont Veterans, who served in the Viet Nam War, which includes photos, names, etc. Also at this site is a rest stop, which recycles all water used on site. An educational area on this process is in a beautiful solarium type area, which is decorated with plants from Viet Nam. This is probably the most beautiful rest area you will see! Our next stop will be at Eatons Sugar House Restaurant for lunch. The last stop will be at the Porter Music Box Museum in Randolph. All places are handicap accessible.

New RSVP Bone Builder Class to Open in Bondville

There is a silent stalker in our midst and 10 million Americans over the age of 50 are the victims. That crippler is osteoporosis, a dangerous thinning of the bones. Another 34 million Americans have low bone density and are at risk for developing this condition. Osteoporosis is known primarily as a woman’s disease, but an estimated two million men have it also. A man is more likely to suffer an osteoporosis related fracture than he is to get prostate cancer.

To address this issue, Green Mountain RSVP has been sponsor-ing Bone Builder classes all over Bennington County for the past 5 years. Presently there are 10 classes and a new one is about to open in Bondville, which has been funded by a grant from the Stratton Foundation. Newly trained leader and RSVP volunteer, Ralph Rink will conduct the classes which will be held at the Bondville Town Hall twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. The first class will take place on

It is with great pleasure that the VT-NH affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® announces that the 2009 Survivor of the Year Award will be presented to Mary Noel Gluck of Pittsfield, VT. The award will be presented to Ms. Gluck this Sunday, July 26, during the Awards Ceremony following the 17th Annual VT-NH Race for the Cure at Hildene Meadows in Manchester, VT.

Known to her friends as Noelie, she is an eleven-year breast cancer survivor who was “thrilled and shocked to learn of her selection. During the past eleven years Noelie has dedicated her time and energy to coun-seling and supporting breast cancer survivors in addition to raising awareness and funds for the Cure (she and her husband Richard are the founders of “Team Killington,” which has raised some $60,000 in its eleven year history).

In her letter of nomination, Charlotte Lang wrote, “Noelie Gluck herself is perhaps the best example of a survivor. Her smile and warm friendly manner is a constant. During the winter months after her che-motherapy and subsequent hair loss, she sewed bangs into her woolen ski cap and skied Killington just like she has done for the last 40 some years. Always positive, Noelie illustrates a survivor’s joy of living we should all appreciate.”

Gardenworks were re-planting the banana tree, people were stopping their cars to welcome it back. Emails came in from some of our club members telling us how happy they were that the tree was home again.

By the way, did you know that the banana tree is not really a tree? It is actually an herb — yes, probably the world’s largest. Want some more? Did you know that the banana is classified as a berry? Bananas grow from the female flowers and somehow, without pollination.

Green Mountain Antiques ShowTwelve exciting years and the Green Mountain Antiques Show just

becomes better and better. Dealers from as far away as California will join the many area dealers in transforming the Union Arena into fifty-seven individual room settings. Each space is filled with prints, paint-ings and folk art while the floors are covered with Oriental, hooked, and braided rugs forming the foundation for furnishings from Early American to the Arts and Crafts period.

The show is held at the Union Arena Community Center on Route 4 just 1.5 miles west of the Woodstock, VT green. Show dates are Saturday July 25 10 a.m-5 p.m., and Sunday July 26, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Parking is free and a delicious lunch is offered by the great cooks from the Barnard General Store. Fresh Paint Auction LoomsThe fourth annual Fresh Paint Auction, a major fundraiser to benefit

ongoing programs and mission-centered initiatives at the Southern Vermont Art Center, will be gaveled open by auctioneer Mary Anne Lukas in SVAC’s Arkell Pavilion on Friday, August 14, at 6:30 p.m.; the preview — with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar — begins at 5:30 p.m.

Here’s how the auction works…local Artist-Members and a select number of visiting guest artists were asked to take part in this special fundraising art auction and they have, as they’ve done in the past, responded enthusiastically. The artists are expected to complete one or more paintings, either in studio or en plein air, which will, in turn, be going home with the lucky highest bidders.

The Southern Vermont Arts Center is on West Road in Manchester; hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday noon to 5 p.m., or visit anytime at svac.org.

Art Show in Londonderry

The Londonderry Artists’ Guild has returned! They are holding an art show at the Londonderry Grange Hall every Saturday, beginning August 8 through September 5:10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and it’s free. An opening recep-tion will be held on Saturday, August 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. View artwork from area art-ists. Writing WorkshopGreen Mountain Academy

for Lifelong Learning is offering two separate writing workshops in August. The first offering is a Memoir Writing Workshop with Ellen Perry Berkeley and that will be held on two Mondays, August 3 and 10 from 10 a.m. to noon at Equinox Village in Manchester Center, VT. In this interactive workshop participants will learn helpful hints on many apsects of memoir writing - fighting procrastination, conducting interviews, triggering memory, organizing material, and doing the writing. Each session will include a writing exercise shared with others in the group. The registration fee for this workshop is $40.

On Monday through Thursday, August 17, 18, 19 and 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tessa Melvin will teach a Four-Day Writing/Edting Workshop at Maple Street School in Manchester Center, VT. In this more intensive workshop, students are asked to submit one piece of writing (fiction or non-fiction, memoir excerpt or essay) not to exceed twenty pages, by August 1st to Green Mountain Academy.

Danby Artist Dale Blodget Exhibits at

Dorset LibraryDanby artist Dale Sherman

Blodget is presenting her work in a solo show at the Dorset Public Library for the month of August. The opening reception, coffee and refreshments, to which all are invited, will be on Saturday, August 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

When she moved to Danby, Vermont, with her husband Alden Blodget, she returned to her artistic roots in painting. “Life in Vermont,” she says, “has provided a pace conducive to observation, contemplation, and expression.” She recently attended the Vermont Studio Center on a partial grant. Her painting is also featured in Vermont Life magazine’s summer ‘09 issue in the article “Open to Interpretation.”

The ‘Laugh in Peace Tour’Hysterical laughter is just what to expect when comedians Azhar

Usman, a Muslim, and Rabbi Bob Alper (a Jew, of course) take the stage at Israel Congregation, Manchester Center, on Saturday, August 8.

There’s a reason why XM/Sirius satellite radio plays East Dorset resident Rabbi Bob Alper’s comedy bits several times daily, often sandwiched between Bob Newhart and Bill Cosby: Bob’s unique back-ground — he’s an ordained rabbi who served congregations for fourteen years and holds a doctorate from Princeton Theological Seminary — prepared him well for a 23-year comedy career with wonderfully unique material presented in a way that’s hilarious, sophisticated, and 100 percent clean.

Azhar Usman is perhaps the world’s most famous American Muslim comedian. He was the subject of an entire episode of ABC’s Nightline, and was featured on CBS Sunday Morning. He hails from Chicago, with roots from the Indian subcontinent, and has performed throughout the U.S. and in numerous foreign countries with the “Allah Made Me Funny” comedy tour.

Together, Bob and Azhar perform at colleges, churches, synagogues, and theatres in a show that The Detroit Free Press calls “one of the most unusual and uplifting cross-cultural experiences you’ll have this year.”

Showtime is 8 p.m., Saturday, August 8. Open to the entire com-munity. Israel Congregation is located at 6025 Main Street (next to the town offices), Manchester Center, VT.

Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’

The Theatre Company at Hubbard Hall (TCHH) announc-es Shakespeare’s hallmark summer comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, as its tenth annual free Shakespeare touring production to area parks and historical sites in upstate New York and southern Vermont. The live outdoor production, directed by TCHH artistic director Kevin McGuire, will tour the region from July 23 through July 30. The perfor-mances, which begin nightly at 7 p.m., are free and open to the public.

The touring schedule and locations are as follows: Thursday, July 23, Hildene Lawn, Manchester, VT; Saturday, July 25, Crandall Park, Glens Falls NY; Sunday, July 26, Cambridge Guest Home, Cambridge, NY; Tues, July 28, Park McCullough House, North Bennington VT.

Washington County Band ConcertCome to Rupert, VT, Sunday, July 26, for a free old-fashioned band

concert on the Rupert Congregational Church lawn at 3 p.m. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and listen to the band member’s

favorite music.This is a fundraiser for the summer Kid’s Lunch Program. There will also be an ice cream social, with your donation offering you your choice of some luscious and tempting desserts.

If you would like to donate a cake, pie, berries, cookies to sell, we would be delighted to receive a donation in that form. If you’d like to bring some non-perishables for the Rupert Food Pantry, that would be wonderful, as well. There is no rain date for the concert.

Film Series Continues in PawletIn 1933 with the world poised on the edge of WWII, humanity made

what may have been its best effort to visualize a world of peace. A place with no crime, no strife and no disease, where the lack of stress led to a much longer life. This place could only continue to exist if isolated from all the rest of mankind. This place was called “Shangri-la”.

“Lost Horizon” is the story of five people, plane wrecked and taken to a hidden valley in Tibet. A paleontologist, con-man, dying woman, a diplomat and his weak younger brother all react to their situation differ-ently. Attitudes range from fear and paranoia to confident acceptance. Their interaction is the film’s story.

The original media deteriorated. Sony found the original sound track and used it to assemble available footage into a reconstruction. The Pawlet Public Library will show “Lost Horizon” on July 28, 7:30 p.m. There is no MPAA rating for this movie.

The film was released in 1937 in black and white, running a little over two hours. It won eight Academy Awards in 1938, and starred Ronald Coleman and Jane Wyatt. Admission is free and punch and popcorn are available. Feel free to bring a cushion for the folding chairs. Could this movie be the source of your utopian dreams?

Free Outdoor Concert At The Clark Catch a free concert by The Primate Fiasco, a five-piece band from

Northampton, MA, on July 28, that plays a high-energy mixture of Dixieland jazz, funk, rock, swing, and everything in between. Dance contests and audience participation rule their family-friendly perfor-mances. Bring picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs to the Clark’s expansive lawn to enjoy the free outdoor concert series, held on Tuesdays at 6 p.m., in July. Concerts on the Green in ManchesterThe Burnham Bros. perform Friday, July 24 as part of the annual

Summer Concerts on the Green series in Manchester. The Burnham Bros. is a rock band from Southern Vermont consist-

ing of three teenage brothers. The band has been playing for several years in the Southern Vermont area and they are now getting traction in the New York City music scene. Recently, they performed in front of 8,000 people at The Prudential Center in New Jersey and brought down the house at New York’s oldest rock club, the famed Bitter End.

The summer concert series continues every Friday through July 31st. with a special Saturday afternoon concert (1 p.m.-3 p.m.) on August 15th to celebrate Manchester’s Sidewalk Sale Days. The Manchester town green is located on the corner of Routes 7A and 11/30. Bring a chair, blanket, family and friends for a great summer tradition!

Sundays on the Hill One of the delightful traditions of the “Sundays on the Hill” concert

series, in its thirteenth year, has been the annual performances of the justly acclaimed Kinhaven Music School’s Faculty Chamber Orchestra, taking place this year on Sunday, July 26, at 4 p.m.

Admission to the concert is $5, with children admitted free. Seats are unreserved and the doors open about 3:30 p.m. Parking is available at the Church, on Lawrence Hill Road, as well as the Weston Green, a few steps away. For further information, please call 824-6686.

‘Noises Off’ AuditionsThe Marble Valley Players will hold open auditions for their Fall

production of Michael Frayn’s comedy, “Noises Off ”. “Noises Off ” is a perfectly delightful farce about “Nothing On”, which is a purposefully terrible farce about sexual dalliances. The action is constantly inter-rupted as actors come and go, usually at the wrong time and through the wrong doors, while off-stage assignations lead to on-stage chaos. From first rehearsal to final performance the delirium never ends. Production dates are October 9-11, 16 and 17.

Auditions will be held at the West Rutland Town Hall Conference Room, Tuesday July 21, and Friday, July 24, from 7-9 p.m., and again on Sunday, July 26, from 4-6 p.m. Director Tim Rice is looking for five men and four women to cast as actors playing actors in this fast paced play-within-a-play.
