Active games keep your body in shape and your mind fit for reading! Come join popular children’s author, storyteller and musician Michael Caduto for an exciting hour of games in the Native American tradition as well as stories, music and a circle dance. A participatory family program! Joslin Memorial Library will host Christine Mix Saturday, July 30 th at 10:30 –12:00 In this fun 1 and ½ hour program children will have an opportunity to draw, design and color their own game boards, in the classic Candy Land style. Children will use their imagination to create their own game worlds to share with family and friends. These programs are funded, in part, by a grant from the Vermont Department of Libraries. SPECIAL SUMMER EVENTS AT EACH LIBRARY! PICKLEBALL: Meet at Brooks Recreational Field tennis courts and learn how to play Pickleball. All ages encouraged to attend CHOCOLATE OLYMPICS:Oreo stacking, chocolate trivia, M&M sorting and more to compete for the gold! DISC GOLF: Disc Golf is a great low-impact outdoor game played with rules very similar to golf. You’ll have fun learning this great game that you can enjoy for life. Location tba. SOCIAL JUSTICE BOOK GROUP: This special event for youth and adults (parents/caregivers) will explore award winning book, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer. All our libraries have copies. Sponsored by the Mad River Libraries. Location: Joslin Memorial Library. Ages 10 and up. Join us!
