The digester is a widely used instrument in laboratories performing analysis for different applications, such as digestions in the Kjeldahl process for protein determination and analysis in the environmental field. VELP Scientifica offers a broad range of digesters (DK 6, DK 20, DK 6/48, DK 20/26, DK 42/26). A user-friendly program Menu allows to select up to 20 work programs while 4 temperature ramps are available for the simultaneous digestion of 6, 20, or 42 samples in test tubes of different dimensions (i.e., Ø 42 mm, 48 mm and 26 mm). DK Digester Line is provided with a wide range of options (temperature selections, programmable permanence time, “continuous” working mode availability) and with a visualization display which allows to set the desired values and to monitor the digestion progress. All VELP digesters can be integrated with accessories to facilitate use.

UDK127 Distillation Unit

UDK 127 Distillation Unit is a new release from VELP Scientifica and represents a solution which further extends VELP’s offer in the distillation units range. The new UDK 127 is provided with a housing completely covered in plastic material so assuring improved resistance to attacks from chemical agents and an extended life time. The Velp patented steam generator, the technopolymer splash head and the innovative titanium condenser (patent pending) guarantee the highest performances and productivity, with a drastic reduction of running and maintenance costs. This unit features an integrated display and a new software which bring an excellent usability and new operational options. The UDK 127 is designed for diversified and flexible use, including applications such as determining ammoniacal nitrogen, protein nitrogen, nitric nitrogen (after reduction), phenols, volatile fatty acids, cyanides, sulphur dioxide, alcohol content, etc. according to official procedures.

Features and Benefits The new unit UDK 127 represents the basic solution developed by Velp Scientifica in the Distillation units range. Thanks to a new software and an integrated timer, the UDK 127 allows to run automatically the distillation time and the sodium hydroxide addition. The supply water flow is automatically stopped during pauses, thus cutting down on its consumption. The instrument is equipped with a system that recognizes when the sliding protection door is not closed and when the test tube is not in the proper position, without which the dosing pump does not start operation. An innovative system allows various sizes of test tubes to be used and 500 ml Kjeldahl flasks to be housed. Low maintenance, time saving, extend life time and cost reduction are some of the main advantages of Velp patented steam generator. The innovative titanium condenser allows drastically saving of cooling water thanks to an optimized heating exchange, while the technopolymer splash head increases chemical resistance and assures preventive maintenance reduction. UDK 127 works in accordance with official methods AOAC, EPA, DIN e ISO. It comes ready to use, complete with test tube, pincer for test tube, collecting flask and inlet tube.
