John opens the door for Jess and they walk in.

The same night, Daniel stands alone. He surveys the chaotic crowds below him.

He stares at them hatefully. He spots Matt and Kate together, they are LAUGHING and drinking - all over each other.

CHARLOTTEWant some company?

Daniel is silent. Charlotte sees him staring hatefully at Matt.

DANIELLook at them. "Mr. Perfect". Everything he does it just- How? How can be so strong?

CHARLOTTEYou know, something I've noticed about people is that you can always tell who is actually strong and who is just pretending to be.

She looks at Daniel.

CHARLOTTECome on.

She leads him away.

EXT. NIGHTCLUB ROOFTOP - NIGHT55.

Daniel and Charlotte sit on the roof ledge. They survey the whole town - it is peaceful.

Daniel stands up and almost prepares to jump.

Daniel looks out over the town, uncomfortable and scared. The wind blows through his long, thick hair.

CHARLOTTEWho was she?

DANIELShe was... Everything.

CHARLOTTEDefine everything.

DANIELYou know, you go through your whole life being bullied and dragged down and isolated, so much that you begin to hate yourself and blame yourself for all of it- And no one knows your faults better than yourself so thinking becomes torture. Torture you can't escape. But then you meet someone, just by accident, wether by pure luck or fate I don't know- but they just stumble into your life and become everything. They make all that hate, all that darkness and torture go away- just being around them or looking at them makes it all just stop. You obsess over them because you need them, and then you fall in love with them. But you end up needing that, and then it gets taken away from you and that torture starts all over again. They walk away happy and leave

Daniel walks ahead of her, Charlotte trails along.

Jess and John sitting at a table together, waiting for their food. They drink and talk.
