Beaches are patrolled from September to April in NSW School Holidays. For specific patrol dates please visit beachsafe.org.au

Beachgoers are urged to download the free beachsafe.org.au and MyBeachInfo app providing ready access to beach condi-tions in Ballina Shire at their fingertips. How it works is: a map of the coastline displays icons of beach openings, patrolled beaches, closures, cautions and her amenities. Always swim between the flags June 2020

DOGS ON BALLINA SHIRE BEACHES

Dogs are permitted on the following beaches: Angels Beach Leash required

Sharpes Beach Leash required

Seven Mile Beach Off leash, effective control, North of

Lake Ainsworth

The Spit Off leash, effective control, Behind

Waterslides to Missingham Bridge,

Patchs Beach Off leash, effective control, 500m north

and 500m south of access point

Dogs are prohibited on all other beaches

in the Ballina Shire

OFF LEASH DOG EXERCISE AREAS

Council has other areas where dogs can be exercised off leash: Bicentennial Gardens, northern end of Reserve, Ballina Compton Drive, East Ballina Gap Road, Alstonville Ballina Heights Estate, eastern reserve area, Ballina Heights Headlands Drive Drainage Reserve, Skennars Head

HORSE RIDING ON BALLINA SHIRE BEACHES

Horses are only permitted on Seven Mile Beach, Lennox Head north of Lake Ainsworth with access from the rear of the Lake.

Code of Conduct 1. Exercise caution at all times near other beach users 2. Only enter and exit at designated access tracks 3. Do not enter any other walking track or dune area 4. Only walk your horse on the beach 5. Do not tether to any native vegetation

VEHICLES ON BEACHES

Seven Mile Beach

4WD vehicles can access Seven Mile Beach, Lennox Head, via Camp Drewe Road. Before taking your 4WD on to the Beach you need to purchase a beach access permit. Purchase a beach access permit: 1. at the automated kiosk located along Camp Drewe Road (payment by card only) or 2. before you arrive via the EasyPark App: download the app before accessing the beach, enter the location code (Seven Mile Beach is 40201), your vehicle registration number and choose your permit and payment option. Visit ballina.nsw.gov.au/4wds-on-beaches for guidelines.

South Ballina Beach

Vehicles are permitted on South Ballina Beach (southern end only) without a permit but need to be aware of the Pied Oyster Catcher breeding program and adhere to the Lands Department Code of Conduct.

Code of Conduct The following Code of Conduct outlines the conditions of use of 4WDs on Ballina Shire beaches. It provides guidelines to public safety and the protection of local flora and fauna and must be adhered to at all times. 1. Only enter and exit the beach at designated 4WD beach

access tracks 2. Do not drive on any other dune area or track 3. Do not drive within 10m of any part of the vegetated dune 4. Drive only on firm sand below high tide 5. Do not exceed a speed limit of 30kph on beach, or 15kph

within 50m of any other beach user 6. All drivers must be hold a current drivers license 7. All NSW road rules apply

Vehicles are prohibited on all other beaches in the Ballina Shire
