The Pole Mounted switch disconnector for medium voltage application is a self supporting bent-press stainless 30/10 plate structure with a IP54 protection degree for horizontal mounting. It is manufactured to be assembled to the pole through a bracket and a steel strip. Each part of the structure is earth connected. The connection of the line to the earth is made by external conductors. The disconnector can be controlled in a manual or electrical mode and there is a mechanical fuorescent signal to show open and closed positions. The insulators could be made in silicone or epoxy resin and they are subjected to a quick aging test.
The switch disconnector types differ in relation to the required use and installation:
P Manual pole mounted switch PE Motorized pole mounted switch
Designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with IEC, CEI and ENEL applicable standards, such as:
Switchboard and apparatus: IEC 62271-200 bushings for alternative voltages above 1000 V: IEC 60137 Alternating current disconnectors and earthing switches: IEC 62271-102
And also to ENEL specifications:
 DY 806/1 MATR.162071 (P model) DY 806/2 MATR.162075 (PE model)
Standard electrical, thermal, mechanical tests Internal arc tested

INSPECTION, HANDLING AND STORAGE, ACCEPTANCE INSPECTION At the moment of the delivery of the switch, it is recommended to verify:
• The correspondence of delivery documents
• The integrity of packaging and of the switch In case of transport damages, contact us within 30 days. Storage If not immediately used, store the switch in a well protected, dry and ventilated place, positioning them according to the instructions on packaging. Do not absolutely lift the load break switch through insulators. Handling Be careful when handling switch, avoiding bumps and accidental solicitations especially on isolators of both switch and VT (when included and in case it is mounted on switch before the pole mounting) and, in the case of use of fork lift, put it on the forks according to the right position as shown on packaging. Do not absolutely lift the load break switch through insulators. Installation and use
• Before installing, verify the integrity of the switch
Removal of mechanism carter: 1) Unscrew exclusively the central M8 screw on the drive shaft (1) and extract the shaft (2). 2) Remove the mechanism carter (3) unscrewing the 12 M6 nuts

N.B: the bracket has to be mounted on the opposite side of the support (as in figure). a) 180 degree bending with a strong lock clamp. Avoid hammering to prevent material hardening. b) 180 degree bending only with a gear puller. Avoid hammering to prevent material hardening. During this operation, loose the pilling a bit and gradually as you proceed to fold the tape in order to avoid excessive cuts. c) Re-bent slot d) 180 degree bending with a clamp and light hammer.

Main connections Main electrical connections: In order to correctly fix the main electrical connections, when tightening the connection bolts always use two wrenches at the same time in order not to stress the insulating parts. Grounding connections: Figure 11 shows the grounding points of the system. The grounding connections need to be made with the minimum possible resistance; it is thus necessary that the surfaces of the connections are perfectly clean and degreased. Pay
particular attention to the TV grounding connection.
IMPORTANT: the connection cables between TV and UP and between LBS and UP have to be fixed diametrically opposed along the pole slope (figure 4).

Instruction for LBS use The LBS status is reported by the letters “A” (black written on a green background) and “C” (black written on a red background) visible on the base of the mechanism carter. LBS electrical mechanism remotely controlled (PE version): Opening/Closing: At the beginning of the LBS closing operations, the operating mechanism will charge loading springs and will automatically make the LBS open/close in less than 7 second at the minimum operating voltage. Manual local operations Opening/Closure The manual operation to open/close the LBS is performed operating the transmission lever with the foil pulling it down (figure 12); at the beginning of the operation also the power supply of the motorization will stop (for PE version)
Figure 12
Lockable function: In order to guarantee the LBS open status, the transmission system is provided by a lockable pin that will lock LBS in open position. In case of motorized mechanism, the device will allow also the current cut of the motor (thus avoiding the start by remote systems). To obtain the lockable function, the following operations are required:
• Set the LBS on OPEN
• Rotate the operating lever downward of few degrees in order to allow the entering of the pin into the shaft hole (moving part) and in those of the transmission system (fixed part) (figure 13).
• Block the pin with a locker in order to avoid the pin unplugging.

In order to change the motorized operating mechanism, the following operations need to be performed:
1) Unscrew the screw on the command shaft (1) and disconnect the transmission shaft (2) (ref. Figure 1); 2) Remove the mechanism carter (3) (figure 1) 3) Unplug the motor connector; 4) Remove the three screws M6 shown in figure 14;
When clamping the three M6 screws (after the system change) pay attention to the the coupling between the motor and the mechanism shaft greasing the two dented wheels.
Maintenance The system does not need any maintenance operation for the first 36 months. Lubricate the gear and LBS operating parts with a greasy spray. Open and close the LBS several times.
End of life gas recover To recover LBS end of life gas, the following operations are required:
- Unscrew the screws and remove the protection cover “I” - Remove the lock; - Unscrew and remove cover “2”. Now the access to valve “3” is allowed. - Push the support “4” to cause the gas coming out.
