I was confused at first because the I wasn’t sure where to click.

The image was really dark.

The instructions on what to do weren’t very clear

Once I knew where to click, the interface was like a game

The interface was easy to maneuver

I enjoyed the “content” section

After just playing with the project, I started to read the information about each “aperture” and it was really interesting to see a more current video playing within a 50s tv screen

After reading the editor’s introduction, the concept of the “Virtual Window” started to make sense.

The project made me think on how I perceive things based on the frame of which I’m seeing it in.

CONCEPT/THESIS:

“How the world is framed may be as important as what is contained within that frame”

Creating different and virtual situations of perception. How a human sees something is directly affected by the frame and the moving image

RESEARCH

Research is done on the different apertures and frames throughout history. They studied on the size and the technological/digital capabilities of a certain era.

There is also research on how people usually view a certain frame.

DESIGN & STRUCTURE

The design and structure is constructive to the thesis of the project. It allowed for the user to be able to toggle between the variables easily. Also, the “presets” were helpful in guiding the user at the beginning. All the research was relevant and implemented nicely to the project. One think I would add to this interface is a three dimensional aspect. I would have liked to zoom in and out and maybe achievea panorama view of the “contents”

Overall, I thought this type of media was used in a both creative and innovative way to develop the conceptual core and thesis. It was really great to be able to fit an I Love Lucy scene into an old flip-phone. This is something that isn’t really seen today, but virtually it was accomplished with this media project. After reading the research on the different apertures and variables of this project, it made me, as a user, think about what I’m really seeing and how my perception is being affected simply by changing the frame of which I’m seeing it.
