What has brought us to today!• Beginning in 2002, we drove a development strategy that would deliver a family of

products derived from a common architecture platform• This strategy focused on market driven requirements and a good / better / best

portfolio• Resulted in the introduction of the MC90xx – 9/03 - the first with this new

architecture• Followed by the MC30xx and MC1000• MC70 and MC9090 were recently released • And now the VC5090

• It separates product development from technology development (technology roadmaps)

• Drives innovation and economies of scale across the product linePlatforming provides application portability without compromising ergonomics• MC70 and MC9090 are essentially the same device: out of ~175,000

files that make the SW image, 12 are different!
