In Spain, CBF field personnelMichelle & Matt Norman havelearned to navigate thecomplex polit ical andtheological climates of a regionclamoring for independence.They work to balance mixedtradit ions from the immigrantchurches of Lat in America, Asia,and Africa. It can be achallenge because you have a
clash of cultures. Matt said, "not only do you have the Catalan culture andthe Spanish culture, you have immigrant cultures." Although the Normansinit ially thought they would be working with refugees, they found thatwork has become focused on helping Protestant Spanish and immigrantchurches engage the the local culture. Matt says, "We're t rying to allowpeople to art iculate their faith in ways the culture can hear."
