INTRO
The Malaysian Rowing Association (PERDAMA) & Universiti Teknologi Malaysia are pleased to
update the news with regards to the Varsity Boat Race 2008 to be held in Putrajaya, Malaysia from
14th to 19th October, 2008.
The competition will include rowing & kayaking fl atwater races, both for men & women of local
and Asean Universities.

Rules & Regulations
Rules of FISA for Rowing and ICF for Kayak.
All races will be conducted on a four lane course with
be 2000m for rowing 1000m and 500m for kayak.
For Rowing, if four or less crews entered in one event, it will be held as a direct fi nal. If there are more than four crews entered, heats and Repechage(s) will be held.
For Kayak, if less than four teams entered in one event it will be cancelled. If more than six teams entered, heats will be held. Any event with less than three entries may be cancelled.

EligibilityIn accordance with normal FISA rules and ICF rules, competitors must be registered students of the university which they represent and able to prove this by showing an offi cial document (e.g.: student identity card).
EntriesPreliminary Form should reach the secretariat by 13th August 2008. Final entry is due by 13th September, 2008.

Boats & EquipmentsAll Rowing boats and other equipment comply with FISA Rules of Racing and Kayak equipment is comply with MASUM, (Malaysian University Sports Council) requirement.
