Varian 3900 GC
Version 1.18.1.1
In the status incorrect unit was displayed for Linear velocity (column section). The correct unit
cm/sec is now displayed.
CTC CombiPal
Version 1.13.1.409
It is now possible to use the 1.2 µL syringe with volumes greater than 0.5 µL.
In the Head-Space injection mode, the flush is now done in the Home position or during the arm
places a vial in the agitator during a sequence. (not above the injector in any case)
Valco SSV driver
Version 1.1.0.474
It is now possible to rename the valves in the system configuration. Indeed, when two valves (not
connected together) were configured (meaning the driver was added two times in the system
configuration), then it was not possible to know which one the user was controlling in the Status.

In the previous version, trying to print the Control part of the method, an assertion Failure was
printed. This issue has been fixed in this version. (DT 3108)
Randomly, the valve did not read the correct streams numbers. As consequence, the vial number
entered for an injection was indicated has too high compared to the vial nimber available. This issue
has been fixed. (DT 3710)
The VICI_CIONF_VALVE tool, used to configure the valves (ID and Baud Rate) was not functioning
properly. This tool is now fixed, and is able to read correctly IDs and Baud Rates configured in the

It is now possible to deactivate the SSV valve during acquisition, to inject thanks to another
injection mode.
Two deactivation ways are proposed:
1- A new feature is available that allows the user to disable the Valco Valve in the control part of
the method. The chromatogram will be then acquired, but it will be noise if nothing is injected.
2- The user can set „0‟ as vial number, and then the behaviour will be the same than in the first
solution.
Also, now when deactivate the Valco Valve injector in the method, it does not wait for the valve
anymore.
Varian CP-4900 Micro-GC
Version 2.1.1.166
Increased analog input voltage value display format resolution. Previously, the voltage was
displayed with the a “#.# Volts” format and now it is “#.#### Volts” format to match micro-GC
ADC resolution.
Analog input voltages can be exported into UserDataStore.Dll (requires MLink32) values 1231 to
1236 for real time values and into values 1237 to 1242 for analog input voltages at run start.

Known Problems
General
The Validation report (IQ) will work only from the Galaxie 1.9SP2.
In programmable tables, if you enter the maximum time value and press the + button, a new line is
added; the corresponding value will be out of limits.
Varian CP-3800 GC
If you have a CP-3800 with a single injector, column, and detector, and an 8400 AutoSampler, be
certain not to select Both (thus specifying injections into adjacent injectors). If Both is selected,
the 8400 AutoSampler will try to inject into both the non-existent injector as well as into the
installed injector.
The workaround is either to declare only one position in the 8400 AutoSampler setup or to uncheck
the non existent injector in the method.
When using prep-ahead, the prep-vial parameter in the sequence should be set to 2.
Combi PAL
The Combi PAL must be configured with one or two inlets only with this version; three inlets are
not supported.
When using the CombiPAL with a 800 MIB interface, the minimum required box firmware is
version 2.2.2.
If a missing vial is detected, sample agitation stops until a vial from the agitator is injected.
The incubation and agitation for 2mL vials is not supported. (DT 3566)
In a sequence using several methods, the agitator temperature taken into account is the one of the
first method only. The CombiPal cannot manage different temperatures in the same sequence.
It is not possible to edit a sequence that uses the Prep-Ahead functionality.
The Dual sandwich injection is not supported.
The dual injection in SPME mode is not supported. One of both injectors in the method must be un-
checked. (MT 306)
