X advertising is a form of advertising which is used to promote banned products like cigarettes and alcohol, in the disguise of another product. This type of advertising uses a product of a fairly close category, as: club soda, mineral water in case of alcohol, or products of a completely different category, for example music CD's or playing cards to hammer the brand name into the heads of consumers. The masking product i.e. the music CD's, or mineral water might not even be marketed in real, it is just a strategy used to generate top-of-the-mind recall.

A few examples are Bagpiper club soda, Imperial Blue Music CDs 'Men will be men‘, Royal Stag’s theme ‘Make it Large‘ and Carlsberg Elephant club glasses.

What is this form of advertising called?

X was one of the first fast-food restaurant chains to open in India's post-liberalized economy. With a run of initial success, it was often touted as the first icon of 'Westernization' in India.

X is soft-spoken, very intelligent, and well educated, but also cowardly, very lazy, overly parsimonious and utterly gluttonous. He is also something of a scam artist and, especially in the Y newspaper strip, can be notoriously underhanded at times.

Although the chain's name was originally inspired by the character in Y, the chain's own mascot bore no resemblance to the Y character.

The bank enjoys a dominant position in Spanish-speaking Latin American countries. It also has a strong presence in Southern European countries, especially Portugal and ltaly, and has expanded into the United States and in Asia.

We may have never used its services, but we have surely heard its name at least once, thanks to its title sponsorship of a particular sporting tournament.

11.Way back in 1902, two British nationals - A.N. Turner and A.C. Wright -

sowed the seeds of a paint unit at Howrah, Calcutta. For over a decade, X was the only Indian player which had imports coming in from the US and Europe. Ironically, even as the two world wars hit import supplies, the industrial activity they generated spiked the domestic market for paints.

Multinationals began wooing X for a buyout. The first change of ownership took place in 1928 when the UK-based multinational Pinchin Johnson & Associates took control of X. Pinchin ran X for three-and-a-half decades till 1964, before International Paints Plc acquired it.

In India, when it came to paint, X was the first name on everyone's lips. V.V. Giri even got the Rashtrapati Bhavan painted with X's paints. X was the brand of paint that coat many other iconic buildings, like the palaces of Bhutan and Nepal. Another feather in its cap has been its uninterrupted track record of painting the Howrah Bridge, which is painted after every eight to 10 years.

‘One day I was in San Francisco in a coffee shop, and I was thinking X is a good name. And then a waitress came, and I said, "Do you know about X?" And she said yes. I said, "What do you know about X?", and she said, "Open Sesame". And I said, "Yes, this is the name!"

Then I went onto the street and found 30 people and asked them, "Do you know X?" People from India, people from Germany, people from Tokyo and China … they all knew about X. X is a kind, smart business person, and he helped the village. So, easy to spell, and globally known. X opens sesame for small to medium-sized companies.’

While working in Yemen, he melted coins to silver. He realized that the London Stock Exchange had high demand for Rial, the Yemen coins that had high content of silver during those days.

Therefore, he acted smartly and purchased those coins in bulk. Later, he melted them in silver and sold it to traders. And guess what, even though he did this for a few months, he ended up with lakhs of rupees.

With this money earned, he went back to his country and set up his company, which has gone on to become one of the biggest companies in the country, and the world.

X is, among other things, a blatant stab at the way in which consumerism has taken over our lives. Much of the movie’s runtime is dedicated to analyzing the idea that we’re being duped by giant corporations, which is presumably why director Y decided to include a Starbucks coffee cup in every single scene in the movie. In every scene in X, there’s a Starbucks coffee cup hidden somewhere – you just have to be bothered to look.

Starbucks had no problem with being made fun of in X, which is why they let Y use their name. But they finally had to draw the line in the coffee shop destruction scene. And so, when the giant art sculpture (the rolling ball) comes crashing through the front window of that cafe, you don't see a Starbucks sign anywhere.

X is based in the UK with distribution throughout the cricketing world, and the brand continues to be a market leader and a favourite with International and first class players.

The X story began in Cape Town in 1988 with the creation of the now commonplace stainless steel grille. They were an instant success, replacing the existing polycarbonate and the heavy, coated mild steel grilles. Somerset and Western Province batsman, Jon Hardy, who designed the grilles, sold the first three to Dean Jones, Geoff Marsh and David Boon.

Work then began to create the first lightweight, adjustable helmet and X soon became the most widely worn in the first class and International arena and the choice of players like Mike Atherton, Graham Gooch, Robin Smith and Brian Lara.

X was under intense scrutiny recently, as Phil Hughes was wearing a X helmet while the Sean Abbott bouncer hit him below the ear.

He is a former stock broker from Mumbai, who was convicted in 2008, for involvement in the Indian stock market manipulation scam in late 1999-2001.

He is alleged to have been involved in circular trading throughout the time period and with a variety of companies, including Global Trust Bank and Madhavpura Mercantile Cooperative Bank.

His sole conviction, which carried a one year sentence, came as a result of a transaction he conducted involving a unit of Canara Bank in 1992.

In 2009, the Securities and Exchange Board of India alleged a variety of companies and other actors were trading on behalf of him; 26 entities were banned from trading as a result of that investigation.

In March 2014 he was convicted by a special CBI court in Mumbai for cheating and sentenced to two years rigorous imprisonment.

Once a dump filled with nothing but garbage and coconut shells, today X is one of the few natural paradises left in the city of Mumbai.

It stands out in the concrete jungle that surrounds it. The X, a rather welcome cluster of grass and greens, is surrounded by some of the bigger banks of the country and is spread over 12,081 square yards. It has a neo-classical colonnade that faces a park and overlooks the town hall.

Just outside the garden is the legendary banyan tree, which is the root cause (literally speaking) of something truly historic in context of the business scenario in India.

6.Game developer X has spent the last 22 years building its own network of “scouts”,

dedicated fans who attend real-life matches and training sessions, and then file detailed reports on players so that the database is authentic. Some scouts watch a single team, others a whole league, and all remain in regular contact with the development studio while swapping tips and experiences on the company’s buzzing forums.

“We have a huge network of 1,300 scouts in 51 countries around the world,” said X’s director, Miles Jacobson. “We used to look for fanzine writers, but now they tend to be bloggers. They’re extremely knowledgeable and objective; they’re frank about the positives and the shortcomings of the teams they’re covering. Because of this, they tend to get the respect of the clubs themselves, both the coaches and the scouts, so they’re often able to find out more information that way.”

Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer credited the game with helping him to prepare for life as a manager. Joey Barton has mentioned that he’s using the game, alongside taking his coaching badges, to prepare for a career as a manager.

X signed a deal with sports performance analyst Prozone to supply data for a new online application, Prozone Recruiter, which will allow clubs to search an international database of players, with each entry providing detailed performance, contract and biographical stats.

7.He moved to New York City in 1918, in search of a newspaper position that would

help him enter the writing world. After a slew of rejections, he met a man who told him to skip out on journalism and invited him to come work as a copywriter for an ad agency. He wrote short stories at night and, during the day, streetcar sign slogans for $35 a week, along with billboards.

“The hit I made with a slogan,” he said in an interview, “I wrote for the Muscatine Steam laundry in Muscatine, Iowa—’We keep you clean in Muscatine.’ I got a raise for that. ‘It’s perhaps a bit imaginative,’ said the boss, ‘but still it’s plain that there’s a future for you in this business. Pretty soon this office won’t be big enough to hold you.'”

The pay was too meager to fund the lifestyle he craved, and he’d soon pinned 122 rejection slips from magazines around his apartment. Thus, he quit copywriting—and New York City.

After this, he reworked a novel he’d written during the war about a young Princeton student who’d enlisted, expanding the book to include the student’s post-war struggles in New York. It was titled This Side of Paradise. While the book didn’t net him much money, it popularized his work and allowed him to charge more for his short stories.

His third novel (the most famous one) has been adapted into films many a times and a short story of his was the basis of a well-received 2008 film.

As a result, X provided the Australian franchisee, Jack Cowin, with a list of possible alternative names derived from pre-existing trademarks already registered by X and its then corporate parent Pillsbury that could be used to name the Australian restaurants.

Cowin selected the Y brand name, one of Pillsbury's U.S. pancake mixture products, and slightly changed the name to a possessive form by adding an apostrophe and "s" to form the new name.

11.The birth of this program can be traced back to 1957 when

eight young semiconductor engineers left Shockley Semiconductor Laboratories because of poor management and started their own company.

However, they were short the funds. They eventually received seed capital from Fairchild Camera & Instrument, on the condition that the upfront equity would provide a right to buy the new start-up if things went well. Things did go well, and Fairchild bought out the company and the engineers reaped handsome return over it.

12.The Indian Electric Co. was registered in London in January 1897 with a

capital of 1,000 pound sterling, to provide power to Calcutta. A month later, it changed its name to The X. When it began, its total capacity consisted of three boilers of 500 horse power each.

Electricity proved an instant hit, transforming the lives of the city's residents. Eight and 25 watt electric bulbs became hot selling items, as did - in subsequent years as they were invented - electric irons, refrigerators, lifts.

From 6,000 consumers in 1912, the year the capital shifted to Delhi, X today has over 2.4 million of them in its licensed area of 567 sq km covering Kolkata and some adjoining areas. Its combined capacity is now 1,225 MW. Its activities have spread well beyond Kolkata, with one subsidiary setting up a 600 MW plant at the port town of Haldiain West Bengal.

Until as late as January 1970, X was controlled from London. In 1978, it became a rupee company.

Faaso's (Fanatic Activism Against Substandard Occidental Shit) is an Indian fast food chain that primarily sells wraps.

Founder & CEO Jaydeep Barman thought of the idea for Faaso's based on the Kathi rolls he had seen in his hometown of Kolkata. He says, "I was fascinated by the concept of rolls. It's a bit like a pizza, except that it's not flat. And it is so versatile. You can wrap anything under the sun.”

Barman graduated from IIM Lucknow in 1999 and moved to Pune to work for Brainvisa Technologies along with his long time friend KallolBanerjee, also an alumnus of IIM Lucknow.

Barman and Banerjee founded Faaso's as a part-time business in 2004.

However, they made waves by being the first food chain to offer a particular service, which is now much more common. What?

"It has made quite an impact on our business. It's very difficult to say how much the cost has been because we didn't get the orders, but we have an estimation for about two, three million euros, which is quite a number," marketing manager Desiree Libeert reportedly said. X is a restaurant that sells various greasy fast food products at extraordinarily high prices, including the popular Y.

It is one of the most successful restaurants in its area. The Y formula is a closely guarded trade secret, and rival restaurateurs have made many futile attempts to steal it.

X usually attracts customers because of the Y’s renowned taste. Because of this lack of viable competition, X is free to engage in price gouging, which he usually does.

X Industries has come a long way since its inception in 1907, when X Gandhi started a soda fountain. He passed on the business to his son, who ran a one-man operation, and, with a hand cranked machine, started a small retail outlet in 1926.

Eventually, his sons, Ramchandra and Lakshman, inherited the business and they were instrumental in giving a new direction to the company. The duo imparted a new vision to the venture and infused a spirit of calculated risk-taking into the firm. As a result, by the 1970s, the X Company had already evolved into a modern corporate entity.

A major success factor has been its ability to cater to different market segments through multiple product ranges. It currently caters to the domestic and export markets with products such as frozen vegetables and ready to eat snacks, curries and breads and the product line it is most known for. This business is poised for strong growth in the coming years owing to greater urbanization within India and increasing demand for Indian food amongst developed regions like the USA and western Europe.

"All we can say is that time will show our commitment to this project and even the things we do in the future. You need not be a multibillionaire company to make a change in society around you. Even if one small company takes inspiration from this, we will feel our efforts have borne fruit.”

He found out that a mere $5,000 would install 15 hand pumps, and had them installed in a village called Shivnagar in Uttar Pradesh, so the villagers wouldn't have to walk nearly two miles just to get clean water. More than just national pride, X had a passion for science as part of its company culture. They had a laboratory devoted to developing better beer brewing. In 1875, that laboratory was the first to isolate Saccharomyces pastorianus, the species of yeast used to brew pale lagers. The laboratory also made discoveries in protein chemistry that ended up having applications elsewhere.

After Y won the Nobel Prize in 1922, X gave him a gift – a house located next to the brewery, which had a direct pipeline to the brewery so that Y had free beer on tap whenever he wanted.

The worm collected the data from the Facebook page and showed it in the format of a MySpace page.

This quickly led to a series of hilarious friend requests of numerous employees at Facebook as they got infected, including internal test accounts known as "The Creator". Seeing that infection, X thought that he had trolled Mark Zuckerberg at that point and declared the operation a smashing success.

The root word is the Latin adjective meaning "giving pleasure, pleasing".

In the US, it is a type of business that could be described as a synthesis of a grocery store and a fast-food restaurant. It offers a wider and fresher menu than those found at chain fast food restaurants. They may also serve hot foods kept on a steam table, like a cafeteria. They sell cold cuts by weight and prepare party trays.

In Europe, it has a different meaning than in the United States as it designates top-quality (and top-price) foodstuffs, stores and counters. It may also provide specialist food from other countries and cultures which is not readily available in local food stores.

The company was founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1950 by aeronautical engineer Howard X, after he took a ski trip and was astonished to see his skis were made of wood in an era when metals and plastics were replacing wood in many product designs. He worked at the Glenn L. Martin Company where they used a form of aluminum and plastic laminate to build the fuselages of aircraft, and he felt the same material would make an ideal ski. After two years of constantly breaking skis, by the winter of 1950, they had a design that not only stayed together, but made turning dramatically easier.

The company would rapidly grow in sales through the 1950s, until it was capturing over 50% of the US market during the 1960s, making them the leading ski manufacturer in the U.S. and U.K. Howard X was known for interfering in day-to-day operations and bored of the results, in 1969, he sold the company in 1969, and took up ______.

Martin Luther King, Jr.'s speech, "I've Been to the Mountaintop," delivered on April 3, 1968 is best known for how King seemed to foresee his impending assassination, which indeed took place the very next day. What isn't often mentioned about the lengthy speech is that in it, he uttered the following line:

‘And so, as a result of this, we are asking you tonight, to go out and tell your neighbors not to buy X in Memphis.’

King advocated the boycott of "white goods" as a non-violent means of protesting against racist businesses. At that time, white workers in X plants were getting paid a much higher wage than their black counterparts, while it was the latter who were being made to stay long hours and do the difficult work. That practice seemed to continue many years later, as in November of 2000, X agreed to pay a large group of minority employees $192.5 million to settle a class action racial discrimination suit brought against the company. Today, however, X is one of the leading companies in terms of the diversity of its workforce.

FedEx said in a press release, "FedEx is uniquely qualified to make this special delivery given our long history connecting the U.S. to China and our extensive global experience in shipping precious cargo, from packages to Xs.“

What is X?

In March 2013, X had a total of 87 million registered members and more than 3.5 million new images uploaded daily. In August 2011, the site reported that it was hosting more than 6 billion images.

Early versions of X focused on a chat room with real-time photo exchange capabilities. The successive evolutions focused more on the uploading and filing backend for individual users and the chat room was buried in the site map. Key features of X not initially present are tags, marking photos as favorites, group photo pools, and interestingness, for which a patent is pending.

Y acquired X in March 2005, which reportedly cost $22 to $25 million.

Give X and Y.

X now licenses its brand to makers of clothing apparel, accessories, bicycles, skates, watches, and fitness equipment.

Identify X.
