VANGEMEREN GARDENS

Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10-3pm * Annual Open Gardens: 6th Year! “It is the Season of the Chrysanthemums!”

Our gardens are AGAIN open for strolling, observation, and enjoyment on Saturday, October 7, 2017 (weather permitting). The gardens reveal a varying maturity from less than one year to nine years with many 100+ years old oak trees casting their shade on the infant gardens. The hosta gardens are mainly on the east side of the property. Also, be sure to stroll through the gardens around the house. You will find benches for your relaxation.

On the far northwest side of the property (by the lake and stream), you will find the mums. They are perennial and mammoth in size (some 3 feet in diameter and over 2 feet high.) This year they have suffered some from the drought. Again we offer you to check with us in the Spring for a free rooted cutting of the yellow chrysanthemum. It will be available in June 2018, allowing you to grow a clone of our yellow mums in your own garden. It will reach its mature size in 1-2 years.

We thank you for your interest as we worship God in his beautiful creation. Though our gardens are imperfect, they reflect something of God’s glory.
