• there are many drugs available which means that Aust. can buy reasonably-price medications for most conditions.

• The Aust. PBS is one of the most effective in the world.

Private Insurance

•Is not compulsory, and is provided by private organisations.

•the government runs incentives for people to take up private health insurance- easy the burden on the healthcare system

•Added benefits include:

•choice of doctor

•choice of hospital

•choice of timing

•aids for paramedical services

•aids and appliances e.g. glasses
