Vallnord BikePark, Andorra

Of course Vallnord Bike Park does not have the name or recognition that Portes du Soleil or Whistler have, but it is extremely fun. And where some of our less skilled team members – like me :D – have developed their knowledge. Never the less, we must mention the Vallnord Bike Park has been the stage of some European and International meetings such as “Maxiavalanche”, “Copa Catalana” or the “World Cup” that congregated some of the biggest international names in Downhill.

Vallnord Bike Park has a cable-lift to take you to from the town of La Massana to the base of the resort from where you can take two more chair-lifts to the summit, el Pic de Cubil. In the first two sections you have the possibility of choosing from a range of tracks of all difficulty level :D. Only on the top section, el Pic de Cubil, is where we will find the mid/high difficulty level tracks, but the rest of the resort can be explored by all ability levels of riders.

This summer has been a season full of great experiences: as CB Team we have been in Portes du Soleil, Les Deux Alpes, the Catalan resort La Molina with its awesome tabletops at the end of the tracks, trained hard for new meetings such as Osona Limits 2013 and most of all, our Downhill team, enjoying Vallnord Bike Park. This Bike Park is located in the town of La Massana in Andorra la Vella and has become “our HQ and second home” throughout this summer

Avoiding extensive description of each track, we will only comment that in the Downhill modality it has the following tracks:

There are also some specific enduro tracks too :D.

As you can see, there is something for everyone, and some of the more experienced riders will be able to enjoy descending down the actual World Cup track. This track has remained with the original World Cup layout except the last section, from the bridge, modified to divert riders towards Maxiavalanche track, as the original layout ended in private property.

At the same time, mid-level riders had a great time in the big Cubil track!!! ;)… tabletops for everyone and nice bankings with great layout… theres been times when we needed new fingers to be ble to keep going!!!

To summarise, Vallnord Bike Park has been our second home since it open in June 15th and will be until the season ends September 15th.
