evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. 46 If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. 47 If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. This documentary on Houston’s experience will help to make you aware and will also encourage you to seek after the Lord in all that you think, do, and say. It is so important that you realize that we must all be grounded and centered in an uncompromising love and faith in Jesus Christ. This strong relationship with Jesus will guide us and empower us as we face the attacks that are and will face us. Let us also commit to praying for each other. God bless you all.

Disciples vs. ConvertsPastor Darren Sarmiento

Many people come to Jesus thinking it is enough to believe, to stand on the sidelines and root for Him. Jesus isn’t looking for cheerleaders. He is seeking men and women who will follow Him whatever the cost. He is looking for radical devotion, unreasonable commitment and undivided dedication.

Jesus isn’t looking for converts. He’s looking for disciples.

Converts are new believers. We all start as converts. Too often we stop there. We make Christianity all about what we believe. Converts aren’t bad or wrong. They are like babies. There’s nothing wrong with being a baby. The problem comes when that doesn’t change. When a baby acts like a baby, it’s cute. When a 35-year-old does, it’s sad. As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 13:11, “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.”

For years churches have worked to get people to make a decision to accept Christ, which is a great thing. It’s important. But what happens next? Where’s the follow up? How do we train up new Christians?

Our mission isn’t to win converts; it’s to make disciples. So what is the difference?

1. Converts are believers who live like the world. Disciples are believers who live like Jesus.

2. Converts are focused on their values, interests, worries, fears, priorities, and lifestyles. Disciples are focused on Jesus.

3. Converts go to church. Disciples are the church.

4. Converts are involved in the mission of Jesus. Disciples are committed to it.

5. Converts cheer from the sidelines. Disciples are in the game.

6. Converts hear the word of God. Disciples live it.

7. Converts follow the rules. Disciples follow Jesus.

8. Converts are all about believing. Disciples are all about being.

9. Converts are comfortable. Disciples make sacrifices.

10. Converts talk. Disciples make more disciples.

A disciple is someone who whole-heartedly follows the life and example of Jesus, who makes His mission their mission, His values their values, and His heart their heart.

Jose Rondon06 27 2018 | Fort Leonard Wood, MOJose Rondon is a chaplain serving the U.S. Army. Sunday, September 9, 2018, 280 soldiers came to know Christ once and for all for a total of 2,560 sol-diers coming to our GREAT SAVIOR since March 11. Because of your prayers, we are seeing this mighty outpouring of His saving power. Please, pray for us chaplains. Pray God will give us: FOCUS to see the lost as He sees them; FERVOR to pray and know that this most powerful God can bring the greatest soul awakening to our military and society at large so millions upon millions will come to bow down to the One who is worthy of all praise, Jesus Christ; and FAVOR with those who will hear the gospel as He enables us to speak clearly and with the Holy Spirit’s power. My plea is based on Colossians 4:2-4: “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.” I believe that our nation, our churches and our military are on the verge of seeing God like we have never seen Him before. All glory to CHRIST alone!

*Afar of Northern Africa-(AH-far) - Afar and neighboring non-Afar tribes have a history of stealing livestock from one another frequently, resulting in small-scale warfare. Those involved in the conflict are rounded up and immediately put in prison. One young man is serving an 18-year sentence for a crime he did not commit. His uncle was involved in a con-flict in which more than 20 people died, but the uncle has a wife and several small children to support, so the clan el-ders voted to send a substitute to prison. The young man was chosen because he has no dependents. He agreed with the decision. Serving time as a criminal, cut off from his clan, is something he can do to help his family and people. Pray that these people who are willing to sacrifice their lives for their clan will hear the gospel and understand the love of God that caused him to punish his only Son for the redemption of mankind. Pray that many Afar will come to see Jesus as their substitute for sin and trust in him.

*Theological Education in Malawi-“For the past year, Dad has been home every day, learning the Chichewa language at the kitchen table. Now, each day he’s either teaching students or preparing to teach classes. Pray for us five kids as we ad-just to Dad’s new schedule and for Mom as she homeschools us and does evangelism through her women’s group. Pray that the students will see what a good Dad we have, as he works hard to teach them each day and then comes home to teach us about the Bible. Pray that we will thrive in Malawi so that Dad can teach here for many more years to come.”

Special Sunday Night PresentationTONIGHT Sunday – September 30, 2018

Special Time – 5:00 PMA Time to Stand:

Houston’s Bellwether Victory in America’s Culture War

A needed warning for those who care about how Satan attacks our society and how to stand against him.

In 2014, Houston’s first openly lesbian mayor, Annise Parker, pushed through the City Council a so-called “Equal Rights Ordinance.” This unnecessary law allowed biological males to enter women’s public restrooms and designated areas, providing criminal penalities for anyone opposing this activity or following their consciences in providing services. When a diverse coalition of Pastors banded together to oppose the ordinance, they faced an onslaught of political force, intimidation, and corruption that rose up against them.

A Time To Stand documents the 18-month fight that ensued through firsthand accounts of those who stood for God’s truth on the front lines of this cultural battle. If you believe the phrase, “You can’t beat City Hall,” you must see this film to discover that with God, all things are possible!

Featuring: “The Houston 5” pastors who were served with subpoenas for their sermons and 16 other protected items. The Houston 5 Pastors: Steve Riggle, Hernan Castano, Magda Hermida, Dave Welch, Khanh Huynh
