Pressies Preamble,
Hi Guy's, Just to let you know the team for the VMAA trophy weekend has been organised and I was wondering if there was anyone interested enough to turn up as pit crew, line runner, timer observer etc, etc. If so could you let us know at next week's meeting. We would be happy to have you along!!!!!!!!!!! As most of you would have noticed, the new container is in situ and ready to receive a coat of paint and get the interior stocked with the gear, the other item on the work agenda was to install a gate at the No Pine gliding site, this is now complete and cancels out the need to climb the fence and also allows access for a mower so that landings are less damaging to the aircraft. The recent vehicular attack on the boom gate has left it a little harder to operate, but I have been assured by Rod and Sarah at the caravan park that they are pushing council for urgent repairs, we will just have to sit tight on that one. That's it from me, see you at the field.................................Cheers Chris.

INDOOR REPORT 2nd March 2019
Apology received from Ash, Gary & Mick – The Airshow trip took a couple of the indoor flyers.
Fred braved the heat (although cooler in the hall) and flew the J3 Cub. Skybug and Spacewalker
Jason had a Karate day but turned up later with his new 1 metre Mustang to show around.
Bob had a return to his small planes – Predator, Wings to Fly and Smart Planes Fighter. Bob shared the flying around and all had fun. He then tested the new floor varnish out with his 4WD Cheetah – does go fast with some modifications.
Graeme and James had the Spacewalkers – a rebuilt UMX from new spare parts as you cannot get a kit anymore. James trimmed it out and it flies like a new one and both flew. The balsa Minimum Spacewalker had an upgraded motor but was still under powered.

It was discuss it at the last meeting and I will put out a reminder Email before the day. The new gate is in and we hope to mow the area before the weekend

Club Flyday - Sunday 10/03/19 at Lake Narracan
It was a great day for the 19 members that attended in the middle of this long weekend . It was fine and sunny
but very smoky for most of the day and the light Westerly wind was lighter than the forecast and not strong
enough to blow the smoke away.
Roy White flew his MX2 and his OS15LA powered CrazE Wing which had issues with the engine on this day.
Wayne Lewis flew the Teksumo Wing, the Sabre Gunny, the Red Wing which went off the air and broke the
Fuselage, a Twin GunnFighter and a Hawk Glider. The S1500 Stick didn’t fly on this day.
Doug Jowett had his Bixlers 2 & 3 and flew them both with Wayne standing by. The Bixler 2 has a 2826
2200kv motor and is too fast at full throttle, but just right at half throttle !
Chris Davenport had his usual car full and flew the Navy Cub, the Tundra and the Extra 300
Clint Wilson flew his Classic Trainer and his Extreme and had his daughter Elizabeth looking on
Steve Loft had a lot of fun with his electric S1500 Stick and the smaller electric Great Planes Liddle Stik.
Lynton McPhail had his Phoenix 2000 foamy Glider and had that flying very nicely. Lynton also flew a Miss
Jazz which looks to be a control line design converted to RC and is over 20 years old. It went well also.
Ivan Walker flew the electric Calmato & the Tiger stayed in the car.
Godwin Bugeja flew his new HK Tundra and is very happy with that model. He had an AT6 Texan with an
OS61LA engine that Wayne flew and had made some adjustments since the last flight. The model flew well but
is not a nice easy flying model.
Ian Partleton flew his Funfly Model and his GunnFighter with no problems.
Barry Medd flew his Apprentice which is still using the SAFE technology and all went well.
Glen Neal flew 2 GunnFighters and didn’t get to fly his Funfly model as the tail end was broken. Lucky he
found that problem before taking off !
Ian Place flew his Super Hots with WL assisting.
Fred Walder flew his Boomerang 40 and Bixler 2 and the Bat Thing. Fred also had a Gunnfighter and a large
Spacewalker but they didn’t get to fly.
Dave Thiedeman had his trailer full but unfortunately was baby sitting 3 kids so didn’t get to fly on this day.
Eric Spratt flew his Electric S1500 stick and his Little Stik and his 2826 2200kv powered ……….glider. Eric
also had his wife and 2 grandchildren out for a look. The kids got bored pretty quick !
Graeme Blackman flew his small electric Heron which is so docile and easy to fly, particularly in the
conditions of this day.
Julian Zhu had his Bixler 2 and this foamy must be at least 6 years old and is still flying well.
Mick Gunn has his Funfly model and was doing some CCMT practise. Mick also had a couple of gliders and
was testing them out for the VMAA Trophy
Several visitors, some from the Caravan Park, came up and had a look during the day and were all quite
impressed with what they saw.
Thanks to Godwin and Wayne for doing the Sausage Sizzle Lunch which went down well as always. Thanks
also to Dave Thiedeman for bring down an extra tray of snags.

Don’t forget to have your Fire Extinguisher handy when flying electrics
Congratulations to James Blackman for getting his Bronze Wings this month.
7
Action Event at Bairnsdale Dave Lewis was the only member of our Club that attended this Event for the 2 days. Lindsay took his Percival
Provost up on Sunday and it was flown once. The smoked moved in and Lindsay had to come home. Dave said
it was a great weekend
Above – Ian Waters had this nice Big Stearman Below – the pits

INDOOR REPORT 16th March 2019 Apologies were received from Mick, Mike and James (Looking for slope sites in Hobart!). Fred had the Spacewalker, J3 Cub and Sky Bug for some smooth flying. Ash had his Night Vapors and Embers and shared his Trojan with Jason and coffee and bickies with Graeme. Bob had his drones out including the Skyo JD509 as well as the Bison 4WD. He also had a healthy excitable Zorro recovered after his illness.
Jason Flew the Super Cub and Extra plus shared a minim drone with Phoebe. He also had the latest printed fuselage of a nice Russian Illyushin Stormovick which does look very nice with printed engine and battery mounts. Graeme flew the Sky Bug and Spacewalker. This needed some trimming with a new gear mount caused by UHU Styro glue melting the foam!!

AGM – The AGM will be in June and we will be discussing the current voting system at the
next meeting, which is the last meeting before the AGM. I would like to have all nominations for positions in to the Secretary or a nominated person at least 2 weeks before the meeting. This way we can inform Club Members of who is nominated before the meeting and we may get more members voting by proxy. I would prefer no last minute nominations ( This is only my opinion at this stage ). We did hope by going to 2 monthly meetings that we would get a better attendance from local members but this hasn’t happened. Please make an effort to attend the meetings and have your say, or at least help to make decisions for the Club’s future.
11
The GunnFighter Cup was not run on 17th March, as we only has 2
members show up for the event on the day. It has been re- programmed
for Sunday May 27th so all those with GunnFighters, please make an effort
to come and have a go.

Current Fuel Situation –
If you need Nitro Fuel See Roy who is keeping some 4
lt bottles of 10% fuel in the Container. Failing that,
you will need to get it from Toyworld in Traralgon.
Toyworld has given us a good price for buying on
bulk so 10% nitro is $40 for 4 lts. That’s $10 off RRP.
So you will need to plan ahead. Don’t let yourself run
out as there may be a time when there is no fuel
available at the field.
Remember to take your Club ID card to Toyworld
Traralgon and get you 10% discount.

Above – Our new container. It will be painted in the near future. Thanks to those who helped put it in place and level it.
Above – The new “No Pine “ gate. You used to have to get over the fence on the ladder arrangement. The clip lock is for use when
the gate is unlocked. Not shown is the chain and Club lock which is now attached to the gate with wire.
Chris Dave & Graeme. Wayne took the pic !
We have now run the mower over some of the No Pine area, but the belt over stretched
and we were unable to finish the job. The gate worked well ! The place is a dust bowl with
the log trucks running up and down the road.
