LOCATION Vallarta is a known

super market in the Sylmar area. It is known for its Hispanic grocery products and its cheap prizes. Many Hispanics like coming to this supermarket for their everyday meals. Almost everyday the parking lots are full especially on weekends and holidays.

PARTY DECORATION Once entering

Vallarta you can already see what type of culture it represents. These party decoration are known as “piñatas.” Where you fill candy inside and people at the party try to hit it with a stick to be able to eat the candies inside. These “piñatas” are very fun for the Hispanic culture.

PRODUCTS After you walk

into Vallarta you notice a variety of spices that are used to spice up their mexican dishes. These spices are known to add a flavor to the foods. Spices include from cinnamon, to dried chills. The majority of the spices are from dried trees.

DESSERTS

These famous cookies are well known in Hispanic culture. They come in a variety of sweats. Many Hispanics, emjoy Mexican desserts like these because they have a different taste than the desserts that are made in the United States. Plus it reminds them of home.

RELIGION The Hispanic community

is very religious. Although there are some people that do not practice it, there is still a wide variety of products as you can see, that Vallarta sells for those who are religious. As you can see there are different kinds of candles in many sizes and colors. They each represent a holy symbol for which prayers are done by those who believe in them.

DIARY PRODUCTS Hispanic diary products

are also what people use on their homemade dishes. As well, they have a wide variety of different brands to chose from. These diary products are originally made in Mexico and then brought to the United States. Hispanics use them to try to recreate their favorite dishes like how they are served and made in their country.

BAKERY Vallarta is also

well known for their bakeries. Everything is made by hand and done by people who are experienced in baking. Once made they decorate their pastry and put them on display. This type of cultures shows how passionate they are about their food.

SWEET BREAD In the bakery, one main

food product that is made are called “conchitas” in Spanish. Which is basically bread, sugar and dye. They come in different colors and flavors from chocolate, to strawberry and vanilla. These “conchitas” are very known for there sweet taste. Many Hispanics love eating these breads with a cup of coffee.

CAKES Anther pastry

they make are cakes. Again they are hand made. In the back of the display you can see all the tools to make these cakes. They are made for special occasions from small to huge cakes. And made in different flavors as well.

PREPARED FOODS Once you start to leave Vallarta this section is where people make foods that are already prepared and ready to eat. Different kinds of foods are made from enchiladas to tacos and more. This type of culture is what every Hispanics dream of when entering a supermarket. Having everything they need in one store.
