Valentine Izotov is a mentor of sport hopes

• I want to tell you about my school teacher of Physical Education Valentine Alekseevich Izotov who has been working in our school since 1986. During these years he has taught a lot of students who devoted themselves to sport.

Choosing a career of a coach• V. A. Izotov was born in September,

1941 in Veliky Novgorod. He felt by himself all the hardships of wartime.

• In his childhood Valentine was interested in sport and that was one of the reasons why he decided to be a coach.

• In 1969 he graduated from P. F. Lesgaft University of Physical Education in Leningrad with an excellent certificate.

His relatives are sportmen tooIt’s interesting to know that a famous Russian high-jumper Yuri Stepanov who beat the world record of Charles Dumas was a second cousin of V. A. Izotov. May be it was he who also helped Valentine to make a decision to connect his future job with sport.

His basketball team – his brainchild

• For 20 years V. A. Izotov has been a coach of our school basketball team. Due to his guidance our team is a permanent winner of basketball competitions in our town and region.

His students – his followers

• 12 of his students have become Masters of Sports. Among them is Aleksander Lazhsky who has received the title of Honored coach of Russia.

the Russian Federation”
