The Weather Display module includes data fields for air temperature, humidity, dewpoint, temperature, pressure, solar radiation, precipitation sum and other parameters. The content of the data fields are dependent on the configuration of the reports sent by the Vaisala MAWS or MILOS520 AWSs. The data field headings can be edited by the user. Vaisala Real-time Display Software YourView is

graphical user interface software for Vaisala

automatic weather stations. It offers a graphical

presentation of real-time and logged data and allows

you to log data to your PC hard disk.

SYSTEM OVERVIEWSYSTEM OVERVIEWSYSTEM OVERVIEWSYSTEM OVERVIEWSYSTEM OVERVIEW

The software consists of four modules that run

simultaneously on your PC. In the Receiver module

you define the communication settings for receiving

data from a data collecting system via your PC's

serial ports. The data logging module defines the

data logging details.

The Weather Display modules are used for real-time

monitoring of measured and calculated data. The

Browser module allows you to study the logged

history data in more detail, both graphically and in

table format.

The DataSocket communication protocol (DSTP) is

used for communication between the different

modules. This makes it possible to have the receiver,

display and logging modules running

simultaneously in different PCs connected in a

network that use the same data. The DataSocket

data packet issues a time stamp for each data

 packet.

The operation is password-protected to prevent

unauthorized personnel from making changes tothe settings or closing down the program. The

password must be entered to stop the program or

change the parameter settings.

The Receiver module receives the automatic

weather station (AWS) data and enters it into the

DataSocket database for the real-time Display and

Data Logging modules. The Receiver module can

work with several serial lines simultaneously; the

Receiver communication parameters and settings

are fully user-configurable.

WEATHER DISPLAY MODULEWEATHER DISPLAY MODULEWEATHER DISPLAY MODULEWEATHER DISPLAY MODULEWEATHER DISPLAY MODULE

The Weather Display module displays data in real-

time by means of graphs, numeric data boxes, wind

displays with selectable data averaging periods and

minimum and maximum values. The Wind Display

features a very intuitive presentation of variations inwind direction during the selected periods.

The Weather Display module includes data fields

for air temperature, humidity, dewpoint,

temperature, pressure, solar radiation, precipitation

sum and other parameters. The content of the data

fields are dependent on the configuration of the

reports sent by the Vaisala MAWS or MILOS520

AWSs. The data field headings can be edited by the

user.

A history window plots the values that have been

received previously for the selected sensor. The real-

time graphs can contain up to 360 values.

The data plotting rate can be set anywhere from 1

to 120 seconds, giving the graphs a time coverage

ranging from a minimum of 6 minutes up to the

most recent 12 hours.

DATA LOGGING MODULEDATA LOGGING MODULEDATA LOGGING MODULEDATA LOGGING MODULEDATA LOGGING MODULE

The Data Logging module reads the data from the

DataSocket database and stores it in spreadsheet

files. The spreadsheet files can be composed of data

generated hourly or daily: the daily files are

synchronized at midnight. The data is stored incomma-separated ASCII format and can be read

directly e.g. in Microsoft® Excel. The Data Logging

module can work with several different data logging

 profiles at the same time.

BROWSER MODULEBROWSER MODULEBROWSER MODULEBROWSER MODULEBROWSER MODULE

The Browser Module is used to browse the stored

log files in graphs and tables and allows you to print

them.

If you want to access Vaisala YourVIEW through e.g.

a company intranet, YourVIEW has a built-in web

server which provides access to YourVIEW software

modules for viewing only. The display content can

be updated by pressing the refresh button of yourweb browser.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTSSYSTEM REQUIREMENTSSYSTEM REQUIREMENTSSYSTEM REQUIREMENTSSYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

The display software will run on any IBM-

compatible PC with a Pentium/200 MHz

microprocessor or better and the Windows NT® or

Windows® 95 operating system. A minimum of 32

MB RAM is required (64 MB is strongly

recommended). YourView typically requires

approximately 20 MB of free hard disk space and

additional space for data logging. The PC also needs

to have an SVGA display, CD-ROM drive and a

mouse.
