3:00pm It’s time to head to your vacation rental home! Stop by a local grocery store to stock up your kitchen for the week.

6:00pm Kick off your beach week with dinner at The Gulf, a uniquely designed restaurant that serves locally inspired food and beverages in a beautiful waterfront setting that’s right on the bay.

8:00pm After dinner, return to your rental for some much-deserved R&R. Make it an early night or jumpstart the fun with a family movie or game night!

DAY ONE

DAY TWO

8:00am With the great selection of area markets, whipping up a delicious breakfast in your rental is easy as pie! Make some eggs and bacon with a side of Florida OJ.

9:30am Pack up the kids, fill your coolers, and head to the beach or pool if your rental has one for some mid-morning sun. Bring along footballs, volleyballs or a kite for more fun on the sugar-white sand.

12:00pm Throw on your flip-flops and beach cover-ups and head to AJ’s Oyster Shanty for lunch. You’ll find the best in live entertainment, cool libations and great local eats.

1:30pm Just over the bridge in Fort Walton Beach, you’ll find the Downtown Marketplace, full of local flavors and southern specialties. Browse the unique boutique-style stores, restaurants and bars.

4:00pm Time to wrap up your afternoon of shopping and head back to the rental to clean up and get ready for dinner!

6:00pm For a relaxed dinner on the Gulf, go to Al’s Beach Club & Burger Bar. This latest addition to The Boardwalk is great for families and friends alike.

8:00pm When everyone’s full, head “home” and slip on your swim suits for an evening dip, if your rental has access to a pool. If not, cozy up on the balcony with a good book.

DAY THREE8:00am Kick off day three with a change of scenery for breakfast and check out Asiago Skillet.

Insider Tip: Start off with the seasonal fresh fruit bowl before diving into one of their signature skillets.

9:30am Have some fun with the kids in the pool, if your rental has access to one. Grab a float and relax while everyone splashes around.

12:00pm Take a break and whip up some lunch in the rental. Sandwiches are an easy meal to prep and clean.

Insider Tip: Stock up on lunchmeat, rotisserie chicken or greens for fast sandwiches and salads.

1:30pm Okaloosa Island is home to The Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park. Dedicated to educating and inspiring its guests to respect and preserve wildlife, the park offers unique and memorable experiences for visitors of all ages to connect with marine life.

5:00pm After a day with the dolphins, it’s time to freshen up and get ready for dinner!

DAY FOUR7:30am Get an early start and take the family to Joe & Eddie’s Family Restaurant for their World Famous Omelettes.

Insider Tip: Try the Seafood Omelette – you’re at the beach, after all!

9:30am Head just a few minutes east of Okaloosa Island to the Destin Commons. This outdoor shopping mall has favorites like H&M, Sunglass World, Lush, Sephora, Brookstone and more.

1:30pm All that shopping make you hungry? There’s an eatery for every taste right at the mall. Fusion Bistro, La Famiglia Ristorante Italiano & Pizza, World of Beer and more.

3:00pm If you just can’t get enough of the great complex, there is a state-of-the-art AMC Movie Theater too, so stay a little longer and catch that flick you’ve all been dying to see.

6:00pm It’s been a long day! Prepare an amazing dinner in, thanks to your fully-equipped kitchen. If your rental has a grill too, throw on steaks or chicken and create some delicious side dishes inside.

7:30pm Grab some after-dinner refreshments (in plastic cups of course!) and head down to the beach with the crew for a memorable walk during sunset.

Insider Tip: Don’t forget your camera!

6:00pm Head across to the Choctawhatchee Bay for dinner, and continue the family fun at Fudpuckers. This must-see entertainment complex offers spectacular dining, a sports bar, dinner theater, arcade, gift shop, marina and even live baby alligators!

8:00pm When everyone’s tired out, leave the kids with the grandparents back at the rental and head to Rockin Tacos at The Boardwalk. You’ll find late night tacos, hand-crafted margaritas and a house DJ until 2:00am.

DAY FIVE8:30am Now that your body has adjusted to “island time,” sleep in a bit. Start the day off easy by fixing quick yogurt parfaits in the rental. Layer Greek yogurt, fresh berries and some granola.

10:30am Get everyone ready and embark on a new kind of adventure. See our friends at Fort Walton Beach Parasail for a thrilling morning the whole family will love!

1:30pm After your sky-high adventure, rest up and re-fuel. Lunches can be easy by serving leftovers from the meal you cooked the night before, or use the lunchmeat and salad fixings you have on hand.

2:30pm With all the vacation fun you’re having, don’t forget why you came to Northwest Florida: THE BEACH! Grab some boogie boards, skim boards and footballs, and hit the emerald surf.

6:00pm After a fun-filled beach day, you’ve likely worked up an appetite! Grab some of the best steamed seafood you’ve ever had at Old Bay Steamer.

Insider Tip: Indulge in the Maine lobster tails, king crab, snow crab or oysters - served with all the fixin’s.

7:45pm Big meals make you sleepy, so cuddle up in your rental’s living room to enjoy your favorite movie together. Make sure to grab some snacks for your movie night at the grocery store on the way in!

DAY SIX8:30am Time flies when you’re having fun! Gear up for your last full beach day with a big breakfast. Taste in downtown Fort Walton Beach offers a delicious brunch.

Insider Tip: They have bottomless mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays.

10:30am Now for some more family fun at Wild Willy’s Adventure Zone! There you’ll find an arcade, 4D movie theatre and laser maze. Outside, challenge yourself to dinosaur-themed mini golf, a 60-foot ropes course, the spinning roller coaster and more!

1:00pm Keep the good times rolling with lunch right at the Adventure Zone. Grab a slice at Salvati’s Pizza Factory between games.

5:30pm After an action-packed day, get ready back at your rental and enjoy some happy hour time on the deck or balcony. Reflect on all of the fun you’ve had so far over a refreshing glass of wine and a nibble.

6:30pm Make dinner special at The Black Pearl Island Grill, a unique spot with island-inspired tastes. You’ll escape to paradise with Caribbean dishes, vibrant cocktails and coastal Gulf breezes.

8:30pm Explore the boardwalk and take a stroll along the beautiful beaches.

DAY SEVEN

7:30am Sadly, the day has come to leave Okaloosa Island. But don’t fret! The fun is far from over. It’s time to whip up all the breakfast food that’s left in the fridge and get ready for the day.

8:45am Once you clear out the kitchen, head to the beach for some last-minute sun or bring the kids to the pool and wear them out before the drive or flight back home.

10:00am It’s time to clean up, pack up and head out of your rental. ResortQuest’s mobile app lets you simply get in the car and hit “check-out” when you’re ready. But you may want to visit the local office to secure the property for your vacation next year!
