Vacation Care Fees Vacationcarefeesarechargedataflatfeeperdayincludingallexcursionandactivitycosts.TheChildCareSubsidy(CCS)isappliedtoallcostsincurred.Priority of Access Sometimes,theremaybeawaitinglistforchildcareservicesandtoensurethesystemisfair,theAustralianGovernmenthas“PriorityofAccessGuidelines”forallocationofplacesinthesecircumstances.TheguidelinesonlyapplytoChildCareBenefitapprovedchildcare.Theyareusedwhenthereisawaitinglistforachildcareserviceorwhenanumberofparentsareapplyingforalimitednumberofvacantplaces.EveryChildCareBenefitapprovedchildcareservicehastoabidebytheguidelinesandtellyouaboutthemwhenyouenrolyourchildintocare.Priorities:

• FirstPriority:achildatriskofseriousabuseorneglect;• SecondPriority:achildofasingleparentwhosatisfies,orparentswhobothsatisfy,the

ChildCareSubsidyactivitytest• ThirdPriority:anyotherchild.

Withinthesemaincategoriespriorityshouldalsobegiventothefollowingchildren:

• ChildreninAboriginalandTorresStraitIslanderfamilies;• Childreninfamilieswhichincludeadisabledperson;• Childreninfamiliesfromanon-Englishspeakingbackground;• Childreninsociallyisolatedfamilies;and• Childrenofsingleparents.

Chi ld Care Subsidy ThenewChildCareSubsidysystemnow“exits”anyenrolledchildiftheyhaveusedtheirchildcarefor8weeks.FamilieswillnowhavetoapprovetheirchildcareenrolmentthroughtheirMyGovaccounts.Thisappliestoourfamiliesthatusevacationcareonlyorhaven’tusedourservicemorethan8weeks.WesuggestfamiliesapprovetheirMyGovenrolmentoncetheyreceiveyourbookingconfirmationfromus.ItisveryimportantthatyoudothissteptoensureyoureceiveyourChildCareSubsidy,oryouwillbechargedatfullrate.Wecannotdothisonyourbehalf.

Our Booking Process Tobookaplaceforvacationcare,youmustcompletetheattachedbookingforms(alongwithanenrolmentformifthis isyourfirsttimeatthecentre)andreturnthesebyFriday6thSeptember

2019. No formswill be processed until this date. Oncewe have processed forms according topriorityofaccessguidelines,emailconfirmationswillbesentoutafterMonday16th September

2019Pleasenote:Bookingsarenotconfirmeduntilyoureceiveaconfirmationemail.

Payments Feeswillbedirectdebitedfromeitherabankaccountorcreditcardoncethisinformationisprovidedtothecentre.Pleaseensureyoufilloutadirectdebitregistrationform.Invoices/statementsareprocessedfortnightlyonThursdayandtwoweekinarrears.Thesewillbesenthomewithchildren,postedoremailedtofamilies.Our Program Duringthevacationcareperiodweoffertwoseparateprogramsforourseniorandjuniorchildrenorcombineddays.Juniorsarethosechildreninkindergartentoyear2andseniorsareyears3-6.The seniors programwill be targeted at the older children and give themmore independencewhen out and about on excursions. Some days theymay catch public transport (bus, train orferry)withstafftotheirdestination.Children attending the senior excursions are allowed to buy snacks/drinks on their excursions(withtheexceptionofdayswherelunchisprovidedortherearenofacilitiesnearby)ortheycanbringalongapackedlunch.Pleaserememberthatchildrenattendingseniorexcursionswillneedtobringalongtheirmorningteaasweonlyhaveashorttimeforrecessbreaks.

What To Bring Alightcarrybagincludingthefollowing:

• Hat–Everychildthat’senrolledinMaroubraJunctionVacationCarewillreceiveourMJCCbluewidebrimhatthat’sinaccordancetoourSunSmartpolicy.

• Comfortableclothesincludingclosedinshoesandcoveredshoulders.Nothongsorsandals.

• Plentytodrink• Jumper&wetweathergear(raincoat/poncho)• Morningteaandlunch(unlessstatedintheprogramthatlunchisincluded)

MJCC Hats Asoflastyearweintroducedanewhatpolicyaimedatprotectingallchildrenattendingourcentreduringthevacationcareperiod.Thehatenablesustomeetthestandardsforadequatesunprotectionandimprovesvisibilityofchildrenwhilsttheyareoutonexcursions.Thehats,whichhavebeenpurchasedbythecentre,areuniquetousandwewillprovideeachenrolledchildwithonefreehat.EachchildisentitledtoonefreehatwhethertheyareanattendeeofourVacationCareserviceorourBeforeandAfterSchoolCareservice.Pleasenotethatanylosthatswillneedtobereplacedandwillincurafeeof$13.00perhat.Wewillalsobeadoptingathree-strikepolicytoreinforcetheimportanceofthechildrenwearingtheirhats.Ifachildforgetstheirhatthreetimes,theywillbeunabletoattendtheirnextbookedexcursionandwillhavetostayatthecentrefortheday.Wewillactivelyencourageparentstohelpchildrenremembertheirhatssothatwecanavoidthisoutcome.Ifyoudidn’treceiveyourhatlastvacationcare,therewillbesomeavailablenowandparentsmustsigntoconfirmthatthey’vereceivedahat.Wehopethatyouwillsupportournewpolicyandifyouhaveanyquestionsregardingthenewhats,pleasegetintouch.Behaviour Please be aware that your child’s behaviour will determine his/her continuing enrolment. Meals Wecatertothenutritionalneedofchildren,fostergoodeatinghabits,andtakeintoconsideration

culturalrequirementsandchildrenwithfoodallergies.

Weprovidebreakfastandafternoonteaduringvacationcareandattimelunchwillbeprovided

dependingontheexcursionand/oractivitythathasbeenplanned.Tofindoutpleaseensure

you’vereadtheWhatWe’reDoingsectionwhichwilllistwhattobringandwhat’sprovided.

Property & Personal Belongings Centreeducatorsarenotresponsibleforanyproperty(includingmoney)thatchildrenbringfromhome.Ifitispreciousthinkcarefullybeforesendingit.A reminder that all portable game players (PSP/iPods/iPads/iPhones etc) are only to be usedbetweenthehoursdesignatedontheday.Atallothertimesoftheday,theywillbestoredintheoffice.Pleaselabelalldevices&accessorieswithyourchild’snametoavoidconfusion.Mobilephones are stronglydiscouraged. Should youwish your child tobringone in itmust behandedtoaneducatoronarrivalandkeptintheoffice.
