Mark Randall and Andrea Pellegrino are the original founding partners of Worldstudio, though currently andrea is workinown projects. Debbie Millman, former president of AIGA, has referred to them as the “brad and angelina” of the design wbecause of their dedication to social activisim.I think what makes them unique is their implemention of grassroots programs.

i’m sure many of you have looked into this website and it’s a great resource. Through the program, college students engage i

multidisciplinary design and architecture projects that address pressing social issues. Participants are encouraged to apply design thi

the combination of unleashed creativity and executable actions – to problems that exist in their own communities. Design Ignites Chasupports the works of these students through awards programs, mentoring, education and public visibility.

Some of the world’s most celebrated designers and artists employed the idea or form of the tree to make a powerful visustatement on banners that were displayed throughout Times Square. The tree is ametaphor for sustainability, and in that spirit the banners from the exhibition were recycled into totebags designed exclufor the project by Jack Spade. Profits from the sale of the totebags went to scholarshipand mentorin ro rams for kids to sustain the next eneration of creative talent.

this project really resonated with me. I mean, I didn’t necessarily agree with the idea that we are talking about growing trprinting a whole bunch of stuf onto stuf  that use trees to begin with, but they are starting the conversation, they are stathe beginning of a very compassionate story.

WORLDSTUDIO

I do enjoy worldstudio’s mission, though I personally less interested in consulting and the bussiness side of deisgn. thouappreciate people like this because they fund the things that make design possible. So that’s worldstudio. and andrea is nov 3!
