1. Planning Information

B. Concurrent Requirements

Service Bulletin V2500-NAC-71-0145 requires to be incorporated concurrentlywith Service Bulletin V2500-ENG-79-0035.

C. Reason

(1) Condition

A foul condition can occur between the oil scavenge tube from the No.4bearing scavenge elbow to bifurcation panel and the left hand cowl doorfront hold open rod.

(2) Background

Not applicable

(3) Objective

To improve the clearance between the tube assembly and the hold open rodwhen the rod is in the stowed position.

(4) Substantiation

A trial assembly on a mock-up engine has demonstrated adequate clearancebetween the tube assembly and the hold open rod.

The Removal/Installation will be revised to add the new configuration ofthis Service Bulletin.

D. Description

A modified oil scavenge tube assembly between the No.4 bearing and bifurcationpanel is introduced. The tube features four clipping lugs. One luge is used atnew clip point 6068, while the other three lugs support two firewire harnessclips and the support bracket for the firerail transponders.

Existing clip point 5222 is amended by introducing a longer bolt and spacer topermit the EBU firewire harness to be supported. The two washers previouslyfitted at this clip point are deleted.

E. Approval

The part number changes and/or part modifications described in Section 2 and 3of this Service Bulletin have been shown to comply with the applicable FederalAviation Regulations and are FAA-APPROVED for the Engine Model listed.

2. Accomplishment Instructions

A. Rework Instructions

(1) There are no rework instructions necessary for this Service Bulletin.

B. Assembly Instructions

(1) Install 6A5367 oil tube. Refer to Figures 1, 3 and 4.

(2) Torque the nuts to 566 to 611 lbfin (64 to 69 Nm) and safety with CoMat02-126 lockwire at both ends.

(3) Install new clipping point 6068 to 6A5367 tube and 5R8141 tube using the4W0109 bolt, TA025022-12 clip, 5W1030 spacer and 4W0043 nut. Refer toFigures 3 and 6.

(4) Install revised clipping point 5222 using 4W0117 bolt, 5R8141 tube,existing spacer, 5A9043 tube, new AS62404 clip to 5A9059 tube, new 5W1031spacer and existing nut. Refer to Figures 3 and 5.

(5) Torque the nuts at clipping points 6068 and 5222 to 36 to 45 lbfin (4 to5 Nm).
