The objective of these workshops is to classify each MCR by consensus as:
• Included for prioritisation
• Has a Significant improvement for all Suppliers and/or Network Operator(s) in terms of increased efficiency, reduced
transaction time , reduced work effort and/or compliance. These will be brought forward for Network Operator Impact
assessment.
• Not included for prioritisation
• Is not immediately required as the market has functioned without its implementation to date satisfactorily without
significant additional impact on MPs. These will not be brought forward for the Network Operator Impact assessment for
this release but if a synergy is identified it may be included in a package option.
• Withdrawn
• MPs agree that this MCR is to be assigned a permanent classification of "Withdrawn". If a similar requirement arises in
the future a new DR shall have to be raised.

MCR0073 Details
Date Raised 05/01/2006 Date Approved 04/11/2015
Requesting Organisation ESBN Jurisdictional Implementation Both
Version History Updated to V4.0 in 2015 – updated to suggest Eircodes may alleviate requirement.
Prioritisation History 2009 - 21st of 22, 2010 -12th of 14, 2013 - 6th of 8, 2016 -10th of 10 and 2017 – 8th of 9
Change Summary The reason the MCR was initially raised was to ensure that where a supplier provides a ‘Person’ type
name that First Name be considered mandatory. Making first name mandatory would assist in
• Improving the quality of customer data held.
• Making customers in rural areas more readily identifiable, speeding up completion of service
orders.
Notes (Update as of 28.10.15) – …. It is suggested that the reasons stated above for the implementation of
mandatory first names may be achieved through the introduction of Eircodes either completely or
partially. It is suggested that when assessing the MCR during future prioritisation exercises, that the
current context of Eircodes be taken into consideration by MPs.
