A presentation about the life of two sisters from the ghetto , who managed to reach the top of the

high life.

When it all began … Venus Williams was born in 1980, on the 17th of June,

in Lynwood, California. One year after that, Serena was born ( on the 26th of September, in Michigan ), but they both grew up in Los Angeles.

Venus started playing tennis at the age of 4, and a couple of years later, Serena started, too. They were coached by their father .

They were both home schooled by their mother, because education was very important for their family, but they couldn’t leave their tennis career.

As teenagers

The big step .. In the beginning, Venus played much

more than Serena and because of that, she succeeded first at the age of fourteen and three years later she made it to U.S. Open, and that was her first big step. Meanwhile Serena was already rising through the ranking and the surprise came when not Venus, but Serena won a Grand Slam on the U.S. Open.

Since then…

Each of them has won many tournaments from the Slam . And

someone will ask “ Who owns more cups and medals ? “, but this

questions is not answered yet, because they still play and - the most

important thing – still win. Serena and Venus are undefeated in

doubles.

Their foundations I often think and say to myself "what I can

do to help others." For years I have donated to so many different charities because I am a philanthropist at heart and I believe in the bible adage that says "giving is better than receiving." – said Serena. They support African’s education and since December 2009, their foundation is building a school in Senegal that will allow kids to attend school for free.

Their life off the court They are both still single and fortunately

this doesn’t worry them. They have Clothing Line called EleVen,

which is only for formal clothes and they always wear dresses from their clothing line on the Red Carpet.

In their leisure time they help Wilson Team, designing their new rackets, which are almost always white with golden frames.

Their future.. They are looking forward to Roland

Garros (May) , Wimbledon (June) and U.S. Open (September)
