“Design of Data Adaptive IFFT/FFT Block for OFDM System” – Rajeswari L.M. and
Satish Kumar Manocha; INDICON 2011, IEEE Annual Conference, This paper will be
published by IEEE as Proceedings of the Conference.
Inverse Fast Fourier Transform / Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT/FF) processors are crucial blocks for an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transceiver system. However, in the current OFDM systems, the system complexity and processing rate do not vary adaptively with the input data. In this paper, we propose a novel IFFT/FFT architecture for the OFDM Transceiver system that exploits the correlation between bytes of incoming information to adaptively choose between the Radix-2 and Radix- 4 algorithm. Using this architecture, we have achieved additional free data slots per frame. The transceiver system has been tested end-to-end and implemented on FPGA Board.
“Advanced Centralized RWA Protocol for WDM Networks” – Sandeep Kumar Konda,
T.K. Ramesh, P.R. Vaya; INDICON 2011, IEEE Annual Conference, This paper will be
published by IEEE as Proceedings of the Conference.
In this paper we present the design of an Advanced Centralized RWA Protocol (ACRP) in which the cost of a lightpath is computed based on its number of available free wavelengths and number of wavelength conversions. Centralized Management System (CMS I) assigns optimal primary and backup lightpaths. CMS II updates the optimal primary and backup lightpaths as and when the number of free wavelengths of primary lightpath reaches the threshold value ‘N≤ 4’. In case of failure the data will be rerouted through the backup lightpath and very next lightpath with best cost is assigned as backup lightpath. The advantage of this protocol is that the tasks are shared using two CMS which improves the computation bottleneck and also if one fails the other will take over the entire process. By simulation results, we showed that our proposed protocol has minimal request rejection and set-up time.

“Studies on Properties of as-cast Al6061-WC-Gr Hybrid MMC” – G.B. Veeresh Kumar;
Journal of Composite Materials of SAGE Publications, 2011.
Al-MMCs are widely used in aerospace, marine and automotive industries for several different applications. Wear is a complex phenomenon and the most important reason for the damage and consequent failure of machine parts. A lot of experiments have to be conducted in order to study the wear behavior resulting in wastage of both man power and money. Artificial Neural Networks help in reducing the cost of experimentation when implemented with care and enough data. In the present paper, the liquid metallurgy route was used to prepare Al7075- Al2O3 composites containing 2-6wt % Al2O3 particulates in the steps of 2. Wear tests were conducted using computerized pin on disc wear testing machine. It was found that the wear properties of the composites containing Al2O3 were better than that of the matrix material and further, the composite containing highest Al2O3 content exhibited superior wear resistance. An ANN model was developed to predict the tribological properties of the Al7075-Al2O3 composites. The predicted values of tribological properties using a well-trained ANN were found in good agreement with experimental values.
