Colour  Application  Interface  presents  the  ability  to  manipulate  colour  technically  and  expressively,  understanding  colour  relationships  and  effective  applications.  Consider  colour  in  backgrounds,  text  and  navigation  systems.    Add  screenshot  of  interface  indicating  the  area  evaluated  and  give  details  about  your  rating:

 Excellent    Good  Developing    Weak    N/A

CALL  TO  ACTIONS    AND  ACTIONABLE  ELEMENTS  -‐ Follows  the  TED.com  branding  -‐ Primary  actionable  elements  –  Red  -‐ Secondary  actionable  elements  –    Light  gray

Forgiveness  Evidence  of  having  created  an  effective  interface,  the  Web  site  is  forgiving,  instilling  users  with  a  sense  of  control  and  pace.  Add  screenshot  of  interface  or  diagram  of  a  task  indicating  the  area  evaluated  and  give  details  about  your  rating:

 Excellent    Good  Developing    Weak    N/A

I  noticed  that  although  the  site  had  great  design  and  information  architecture  but  the  complete  user  experience  was  not  thought-‐through/implemented.

A  lot  of  places  where  feedback  can  be  given  in  the  form  of  JavaScript  type  validation,  it  is  missing.

Empty  comment  box  and  pressing  ‘Submit  content’  goes  to  blank  error  page,  instead  of  showing  error  feedback  on  same  screen  so  user  can  make  correction.

Search  does  not  have  autocomplete.

Search  doesn’t  provide  any  related  keywords.

Screenshot  added  below.

Feedback    Without  feedback,  users  might  not  be  sure  that  their  action  has  actually  been  received  and  processed  by  the  computer.  Consider  page  download  times  and  the  use  of  visual  and  audio  aids  to  response  to  expected  delays,  help  features,  task  oriented  help,  Hints  and  tips.    Add  Screenshot  of  interface  indicating  the  area  evaluated  and  give  details  about  your  rating  (2  Samples  Max):

 Excellent    Good  Developing    Weak    N/A

Related  keywords  missing.  One  of  their  latest  videos  is  ‘Are  you  human?’  Could  have  given  hint.

Error  on  same  page  or  some  error  alert  could  have  been  better  since  I’d  be  on  same  page.

Overall  experience,  the  Interface  of  this  Web  site  is:    Fairly  Good

Excellent   Good Developing Weak Poor

Consider  purpose,  content,  navigation,  functionality/feedback  and    screen  design  elements  to  support  you  overall  experience  rating:

1) TED  clearly  lacks  backend  programmer  and  frontend  UI  developer  expertise.– No  feedbacks/validations

– Error  is  on  a  separate  pages

– Search  system  could  be  improved.

2) Design  and  graphics  is  clearly  at  par  with  print  design  magazines.

3) Due  to  the  browsing  habits  of  TED  content  consumers,  they  get  away  without  having  a  good  internalsearch  engine.

TED  videos  are  also  search  via  google  most  of  the  time  as  well.  Their  videos  are  also  present  on  Youtube.

4) Content  organisers/IA  and  content  curators/managers  are  of  utmost  importance  to  them  as  each  contenthas  to  be  checked  for  correct  tagging  and  categorization  as  well  as  massive  amount  of  information  on  the  site.

Consider  purpose,  content,  navigation,  functionality/feedback  and    screen  design  elements  to  support  you  overall  experience  rating:

1) I  use  this  site  personally,  find  it  functional.

2) It  is  not  very  clear,  you  need  to  read  information  clearly  to  find  what  you  need.

You  rely  more  on  recall  from  last  use  than  recognition.

3) BHPhotovideo  has  information  (Customer  reviews,  Suggest  this  to  a  friend    and  rating)  that  is  just  enoughto  convince  you  to  buy  or  not  buy  the  product.  ‘See  image’

5) It  allows  users  to  create  multiple  Wishlists,  which  I  find  very  useful,  since  I  like  to  have  a  separate  list  ofPhotography,  audio  and  video  equipment  that  I  need.  At  some  cases  I  do  go  back  and  buy  things  that  I  can  buy  and  add  value  to  my  work.
