Success By 6 Turns Six
Success By 6® is United Way of Greater New Haven’s initiative to ensure that more children throughout the region come to school ready to learn and have a solid foundation for lifelong success.
Since 2005, United Way of Greater New Haven has invested over $2.5 million dollars in early childhood programs and initiatives, provided leadership to early childhood councils across the region and advocated for increased access and improved quality.
We are honored to be part of a greater New Haven community network that has worked together with remarkable results to increase the availability of early care and education, improve quality and engage parents.
Through Success By 6, United Way works to ensure that more children come to school socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically ready to learn and succeed regardless of race or socioeconomic status.

The years between birth and six are a time of tremendous growth and development. These early years, and the opportunity for a strong start and quality early childhood education matter - for young children and their families and for our entire community.
In 2010, United Way of Greater New Haven was one of only two United Ways in the country to receive an Early Head Start grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to increase the availability of high-quality infant and toddler care in New Haven.
