een belangrijk deel van mijn promotieonderzoek had niet uitgevoerd kunnen worden zonder de deelname van patiënten. mijn dank is groot.

Professor m.a. benninga, Pb, beste marc, wat ben ik blij dat ik onder jouw leiding onderzoek heb kunnen doen! Je bent altijd op de hoogte en betrokken, en tegelijkertijd geef je ons on-derzoekers de vrijheid om zelf het onderzoek vorm te geven. hoe druk je ook was, je maakte altijd tijd om mee te denken, lezen of helpen, ook voor niet-werk-gerelateerde zaken (zoals een nieuwe baan). dit alles heb ik heel erg gewaardeerd. daarnaast hebben we veel gelachen, en was het altijd ontzettend gezellig om met je te werken. ik hoop dat we in de toekomst nog veel met elkaar te maken krijgen.

beste collega’s in “de bunker”, dag in dag uit met z’n zessen in een kamer zonder ramen klinkt misschien weinig aantrekkelijk, maar het was mij een waar genoegen. ik hoop jullie allen nog vaak te zien op etentjes, borrels, en congressen? (in alfabetische volgorde:) hilde, geluk-kig heb jij, ondanks dat je - dankzij mij - maanden als nomade door het ziekenhuis trok, je plekje gevonden in de bunker. Je enthousiasme is aanstekelijk (behalve bij spelletjes!). ilan, fijne vent, dank voor je gezelligheid, je enthousiasme en dat je altijd om mijn grappen moest lachen. Judith K, je bent maar kort in de bunker bent geweest, maar ik vond het heel fijn dat je er was. wat was het gezellig in new york. Judith Z, toen je als student mee kwam helpen met een project, viel je op met je gedrevenheid en gezelligheid. leuk dat je uiteindelijk een collega bent geworden. Het was fijn samenwerken aan onze gezamenlijke projecten. Juliette, met jou in de bunker is het nooit saai. daarbij sta je altijd klaar voor je collega’s. dank voor al je gezelligheid. Kay, jij kwam mij versterken toen ik nog het enige haantje in het kippenhok was. dat beviel goed. we hebben met succes meerdere projecten samen gedaan, en daar-naast veel lol gemaakt, o.a. op en na congressen. leuk dat jij mijn paranimf wil zijn. maartje, je bent een aanwinst voor de bunker met je humor, attentheid en je lekkere, zelfgemaakte hapjes. Veel succes in australië. marije, voor jou was het een moeilijke beslissing om fulltime topsport de rug toe te keren, maar ik was er heel blij mee, omdat dit betekende dat je ons full-time ging verblijden met je aanwezigheid. wat leuk dat ik jouw paranimf mocht zijn. wie weet zijn we binnenkort weer collega’s. nina Steutelini, gelukkig zat je niet al te vaak bij je andere collega’s, want als jij er bent is het altijd gezellig en wordt er veel gelachen. ik ben blij dat je bij ons kwam werken. CURRICULUM VITAE

daniël robin hoekman werd geboren op 30 mei 1985 in amsterdam. hij behaalde in 2003 zijn diploma aan het St. ignatius gymnasium in amsterdam. in 2008 behaalde hij zijn bachelor biomedische wetenschappen en doctoraal geneeskunde aan de universiteit van amsterdam. nadien volgde hij co-schappen, onder andere in het St. Joseph hospital in nguludi, malawi. na het behalen van het artsexamen in 2011 startte hij met promotieonderzoek bij het Academisch Medisch Centrum / Emma Kinderziekenhuis onder leiding van prof. dr. M.A. benninga en prof. dr. g.r.a.m. d’haens. Sinds de zomer van 2016 is hij werkzaam als arts-assistent bij de afdeling Kindergeneeskunde van het St. antonius Ziekenhuis in nieuwegein.daniël woont samen met zijn verloofde rachel Plak en zoon boris hoekman in amsterdam.
