WHO’S COMING TO THE FAMILY FUN DAY AT UTTOXETER RACECOURSEON APRIL 30? IT’S ONLY ONE DIRECTION…
Uttoxeter Racecourse will be staging an action-packed May Bank Holiday Weekend “Family
Fun Day” on Saturday 30 April, with seven races for the grown-ups and plenty of
entertainment for the kids - including a live performance by 1D’s only full time cover band,
Only One Direction.
The boys have now played to over a half a million people throughout the UK, Europe, Asia,
the UAE and London’s West End, and capture the charisma, energy and enthusiasm of the
famous five! They will be bringing a show to Uttoxeter Racecoruse that features songs from
all four of One Direction’s smash hit albums including: What Makes You Beautiful, Story of
My Life, Best Song Ever, Steal My Girl and Drag Me Down. Described these days as a
“super tribute”, their performances are suitable for all ages.
And if that weren’t enough, there will be plenty of other entertainment for the kids within the
Centre Course area, with face painters, inflatables, a trampoline trailer, crazy golf, fun fair
and pony rides.
Gates will open at 12.00, and Only One Direction will perform before the seven races on the
card get under way at 13.50.
Best of all, under-18s are admitted free of charge to all Family Fun Days at Uttoxeter
Racecourse, making it an affordable day for all the family.
Admission prices for adults start from £12. Full details can be found at http://www.uttoxeter-
racecourse.co.uk/whats-on/fixture/30-april-2016/. (Bookings can also be made by telephone
at 01889 562561).
Staff and management at Uttoxeter Racecourse in Staffordshire, meanwhile, are celebrating
the news that they have received a second Racecourse Association (RCA) ‘Award for
Excellence’.
The RCA, VisitEngland and VisitScotland have just announced the top racecourses in
England, Scotland and Wales for Visitor Attraction in 2015. Now in its seventh year, the
scheme allows every racecourse to be assessed and rated by VisitEngland and
VisitScotland against other attractions in Britain.
Last year, the RCA and VE introduced ‘Excellence Accolades’ - individual awards, which
represent very high standards in a particular area of the racecourse assessment.
Amongst the 2015 prizewinners in this category is Uttoxeter Racecourse, which has claimed
an RCA Excellence Accolade for “Visitor Information & Signage” for the second year
running.
