United Tribes Technical College Art Park
Though there is not a designated art program at UTTC, the
students take a strong interest in creating forms of art that
coincide with their history and culture. Because of this, I
have decided to create an area where students can displaytheir art for all to see, admire, and understand. These works
of art may also help to bring the knowledge of the culture
back into the new generations of children by creating
interest and interaction throughout the park.
These photos, of the sculptures previously built
students along the Missouri River walk, are exa
of art that can be installed into the Art Park.

Master PlanThese overhead views and
master plans show how the
trail will be incorporated into
the Art Park and meandered
through it, mimicking the
course of the Missouri River.
The trail and Art Park are
also meant to represent the
path of the Bear. The park
gives visitors opportunities for
reflection and self-observation,
along with enveloping the
visitor in solitude for self-
understanding and knowledge.

Perspectives
These images show what it may look likto begin to walk through the Art Park fro
the west.
The image on the lower left hand corne
(from Chicagos Botanical Gardens)
depicts what I desire to be viewed on th
retaining walls. This material will, like at
Botanical Gardens, be able to be written
on with a water proof type medium to
inform visitors what the art piece is abou

Art Placement
Most art/sculptures would be placed on
the top of the rolling hills I have createdthroughout the site to promote interest.
There will be one exception to the hilltop
art placement. That exception will be the
hidden clearing. Cloaked by tall grasses
and a smaller, less hierarchical path, the
clearing will generate a more personal
area for reflection.

The Art Park is designed to encourage students
creativity and to help new generations tobecome aware of their cultures history. It
is a fun and expressive way to bring
UTTCs culture alive.
