BRIGADES - GENERALITIES

USJTF Brigades

USJTF Brigades are modular units resectioning many battalions. A USJTF BDE has to be able to manage

any situation by using optimally its strengths in its theatre of operations.

Composition

The brigade is led by a BDE commander, usually a Colonel. To help him in his or her task, he has a

second in command (usually a LTC) and the BDE Senior NCO. The BDE Executive Officer can lead half

of the brigade battalions if needed to help the BDE Commanding Officer. The BDE Senior NCO acts as

both a RTO, to communicate with the battalion companies, and an adviser, as a veteran from many games.

The Brigade includes two or more USJTF Battalions.

Brigade Commanding Officer

Rank: Colonel or Brigadier General

The Brigade commander is responsible for the welfare of their men, and also responsible for all training

and command decisions that are used and implemented within his brigade. The BDE commander holds

two distinct responsibilities, the first being the commanding of their troops on the Airsoft battlefield, the

second being administration and guidance regarding all aspects of their brigade operations, and the

dissemination of information in both combat and garrison. The Brigade commander is first in the chain of

command for his Brigade.

Brigade Executive Officer

Rank: Lieutenant Colonel or Colonel– can be a Major as BDE senior BN Commander

The Brigade Executive Officer is responsible for the welfare of their men, and also responsible for all

training and command decisions that are used and implemented within his Brigade. The Brigade XO holds

two distinct responsibilities, the first being the commanding of their troops on the Airsoft field, following

his CO orders, the second being administration and guidance regarding all aspects of their team’s

operations, and the dissemination of information in both combat and garrison in order to help his CO. The

Brigade XO is second in the chain of command for his brigade.

BDE Senior Enlisted Advisor

Rank: First Sergeant – can be a Sergeant Major

The Brigade Senior NCO is a BDE’s senior enlisted advisor of their outfit. The Brigade Senior NCO is

responsible for the welfare of their men and for all training and enforcing command decisions and

standards that are used and implemented within their Brigade. The BDE Senior NCO is the enforcer of

standards and the eyes and ears of the Brigade Commanding Officer.

The BDE Senior NCO observes their troops on the Airsoft battlefield for their morale and welfare,

provides administration and guidance regarding all aspects of their BDE’s operations, and disseminates

information in combat and in garrison. He or she works as the BDE Commanding Officer’s RTO. The

BDE Senior NCO works directly with the USJTF Sergeant Major. The BDE Senior NCO is first in the

chain of command in the enlisted corps for his or her division.

Brigade Operations Officer

Rank: Major

The Operations Officer main mission is to plan, to administrate, and coordinate the allied forces on the

battlefield. The Operations Officer is the third in charge of the brigade.

Planning

The Operations Officer helps his CO and his XO to plan the future operations of the brigade. To

achieve this task, he has to identify with the Intelligence Officer the main objectives of the

mission, choose the forces needed to achieve the mission, and prepare the logistic the forces may

need with the Logistics Officer.

Administration

The Operations Officer has to gather, train, and administrate the forces in order to be sure they

will be able to achieve the mission.

Coordination

During the operations, the main mission of the Operations Officer is to coordinate the forces on

the theater of operations. He has to maintain the cohesion of the troops from the beginning to the

end of the mission.

Brigade Logistics Officer

Rank: Major

The Logistics Officer main mission is to plan and coordinate the supply delivery to the allied

forces on the brigade theater of operations. Logistics supply includes BB supply, water, food,

maintenance, engineering and transportation. The Logistics Officers also is in charge of the

brigade Ordnance Company.

Brigade Intelligence Officer

Rank: Major

The Intelligence Officer main mission is to gather information on everything that happens on the

theater of operation. He has to collect and analyze intelligence information about the adversary

forces. The Intelligence Officer also controls the maps and geographic brigade information and

work to improve the data of his or her Division Geographic Service. This officer controls the

brigade STA units that help him to gather the Intel.

Types

USJTF Brigades are modular units resectioning many companies. Depending on what kind of battalion it

resections, a brigade can be classed as Infantry, Reconnaissance, Motorized Infantry, etc. These types are

supposed to help senior officers planning games on the battlefield map.

BRIGADE TYPES

Guidance

These are guide lines about how to choose the type of a brigade. However, USJTF Commanders

have to choose wise, considering how many men they have in each of their battalions.

For the most part of the situations, guide lines are the same as for battalion types.

Infantry Brigade

If the majority of a brigade battalions are Infantry ones, then the brigade is called Infantry Brigade. Here is

Reconnaissance Brigade

If the majority of a brigade battalions are Reconnaissance ones, then the brigade is called Reconnaissance

Brigade. Here is an example:
