Using Zinio on Your Computer
Getting Started
You will need:A WPL cardA computer with
internet access OR a public PC

Start by visiting waukeganpl.org/library-at-home/online-resources
Click the link for Zinio at the bottom

Click Create Account!

Enter your email address, choose and confirm a password, and enter your name
Click Create Account

If your account has been created successfully, you will receive an email

Search for the magazine you would like to view
Search by keyword, title or genre

Click the magazine’s cover image
Zinio
Create a zinio.com account and click continue
ZinioWhy two accounts?
The first account you created gives you access to magazines to which the library owns a subscription
The second account gives you the ability to check the magazines out from zinio.com

Next, you can either:choose to set personal preferences
on zinio.com and click submit ORskip setting personal preferences

Click on the magazine cover to open it
The magazine will open in a new window

The magazine appears exactly as it does in print
Zinio
Use the tools on the bottom left to print, manage your preferences, get help, or share what you’re reading

Use the tools on the bottom right to view full screen, zoom in, skip to the table of contents, view pages as thumbnails, and turn the page

Search the magazine for keywords using the box in bottom center
Results appear to the left

To delete a magazine, navigate to My Library on zinio.com
Click edit

Click remove
Zinio
When you’re ready to check out another magazine, click Return to Library Collection
General Information
Subscribe to as many magazines as you like from Zinio – if the library holds a subscription for it, you can read it for free!
Magazines from Zinio do not expire, and they do not accrue overdue fines
Only patrons with Waukegan Public Library cards can subscribe to magazines from Zinio
Do you want a magazine to which the library does not currently subscribe? Suggest it to a librarian in person, online or by phone
