Installing the Device Handler

1. Log in to the Smar th ings deve loper por ta l (h t tps : //graph .ap i .smar t th ings .com/) I f you do not have an account , reg is te r by fo l lowing the l ink on the page .

2 . C l ick “My Dev ice Hand lers” in the nav igat ion bar ( f ig . 1 ) .

3 . Press “Create New Dev ice Hand ler ” ( f ig . 2 ) .

4 . C l ick the “From Code” tab ( f ig . 3 ) .

5 . Open a new tab , v is i t h t tps : // raw.g i thubusercontent .com/kr la f ramboise/Smar tTh ings/master/dev icetypes/kr la f ramboise/dome-s i ren .s rc/dome-s i ren .groovy and copy ALL of the tex t .

6 . Paste the cop ied code in to the tex t box , and c l ick “Create” ( f ig . 3 ) .

7 . Now c l ick “Save” ( f ig .4) .

8 . F ina l l y pub l ish i t fo r yourse l f ( f ig . 5 ) .

9 . Now add the S i ren to your Smar tTh ings system. V is i t www.domeha.com/ for fu r ther ins ta l la t ion and set -up inst ruct ions .

Note: You should only add the Siren to SmartThings AFTER the Device Handler is created. If you already added the device, remove it and add it again into your system, and the Siren will automatically detect the Device Handler.

Settings Page

1. A larm SoundThis sets the sound of the A la rm to one of f i ve tones ava i lab le fo r the S i ren .

2. A larm VolumeThis sets the vo lume of A la rm. Three vo lume leve ls a re ava i lab le - Low, Med , and H igh (Defau l t )

3. A larm Durat ionThis sets how long the A la rm p lays for. There a re four opt ions ava i lab le - 30 sec , 1 min (Defau l t , ) 5 min , and unt i l the bat te ry is dep le ted .

4. A larm LEDThis enab les or d isab les the f lash ing LED r ing that accompanies the A la rm.

5. A larm DelayThe A larm De lay w i l l de lay the A la rm for the amount of t ime spec i f ied in th is set t ing . Th is a l lows users , fo r example , to t r igger a sensor that is a rmed w i th in the Smar t Home Moni tor ing Smar tApp (e .g . f ront door sensor ) and wa i t a cer ta in amount of t ime before the a la rm sounds . Th is le ts the user d isarm the Smar t Home Moni tor ing Smar tApp before the A la rm star ts p lay ing .

6. A larm Delay BeepI f th is opt ion is enab led , the S i ren wi l l beep in te rmi t tent ly dur ing the A la rm De lay so the user is aware that the A la rm wi l l sound imminent ly .

1. Open the Smar tTh ings app and go to the Dashboard tab ( f ig . 1 ) .

2 . Press the Gear icon in the top r ight corner and tap “Secur i ty ” in the l i s t that appears ( f ig . 2 ) .

3 . Th is page le ts you se lect wh ich sensors a re moni tored when the Smar t Home Mon-i to r ing Smar tApp (SHM) is set to “Armed (Away) ” mode. Tap “Open/Close Sensors” o r “Mot ion Sensors” , se lect a l l o f the sensors you wish to t r igger the A la rm, and tap “Done” in the top r ight corner ( f ig . 3 ) .

4 . Tap “Next ” in the top r ight corner.

5 . Th is page le ts you se lect wh ich sensors a re moni tored when SHM is set to “Armed (Home)” mode. Tap “Open/Close Sensors” o r “Mot ion Sensors” , se lect a l l o f the sensors you wish to t r igger the A la rm, and tap “Done” in the top r ight corner ( f ig . 4 ) .

6 . Tap “Next ” in the top r ight corner.

7 . Se lect “A le r t w i th S i rens” f rom the l i s t ( f ig . 5 ) .

8 . Tap “Se lect S i rens” , choose which S i rens you wish to p lay the A la rm, and tap “Done” in the top r ight corner ( f ig . 6 ) .

9 . Tap “Done ,” and tap “Done” aga in in the fo l lowing screen to f in ish the set up .

Note: by default, the Alarm will sound immediately after SmartThings detects an event. To trigger the Alarm after a delay (e.g. to give you some time to disarm your system,) go to the Device Handler settings page and turn on the “Alarm Delay.” In addition, enabling the “Alarm Delay Beep” will sound a soft beep intermittently until the Alarm plays.

1. Open the Smar tTh ings app and go to the Dashboard tab ( f ig . 1 ) .

2 . Press the Gear icon in the top r ight cor -ner and tap “Custom” in the l i s t that appears ( f ig . 2 ) .

3 . Tap “New moni tor ing ru le” ( f ig . 3 ) . You wi l l c reate a new ru le fo r each sound you want to use in your system.

4 . Tap “What k ind of dev ice do you want to use?” ( f ig . 4 ) , se lect the type of sensor you want to moni tor, and tap Done. Note that each type of sensor you wish to moni tor w i l l need i ts own ru le .

5 . Tap “Se lect Sensors” ( f ig . 5 ) , se lect a l l o f the sensors you wish to moni tor, and tap “Done.”

6 . Use the togg le swi tches under “What do you want to moni tor ” to choose whether you want to be not i f ied when the Sensor opens , c loses , o r both . Note : i f cer ta in sensors shou ld t r igger the Ch ime when opened whi le o thers do so when c losed , you have to c reate a new ru le fo r each conf igurat ion .

7 . Choose how of ten the ch ime shou ld be t r iggered - i f “On ly once per day” is tu rned on , the Ch ime wi l l on ly sound the F IRST t ime the event is sensed.

9 . Se lect “Aud io Not i f icat ions” f rom the l i s t that appears ( f ig . 6 ) .

10 . Tap “Se lect Aud io P layer ” , p ick a l l o f the S i rens you wish to p lay the Ch ime , and tap “Done” ( f ig . 7 ) .

11 . Tap “Not i f icat ion” and se lect one of the prov ided opt ions for the Ch ime sound ( f ig . 8 ) . Each wi l l p lay a d i f fe rent sound. A l te rna -t i ve ly , t ype in the labe l o f your des i red ch ime f rom the Main Page of the dev ice hand ler in to the “P lay th is message” box .

12 . Tap “Next ” , name your ru le ( f ig . 9 ) , and tap “Done” to f in ish the process .

Trigger the Alarm or Chime When Smoke or Leaks are Detected!

1. Open the Smar tTh ings app and go to the Dashboard tab ( f ig . 1 ) .

2 . Press the Gear icon in the top r ight cor -ner and tap “Smoke” o r “Leak” in the l i s t that appears ( f ig . 2 ) .

3 . Togg le of f “Use every Smoke/Leak detec -tor ” ( f ig . 3 ) to choose spec i f ic Smoke/Leak Detectors to t r igger the A la rm (or every de -tector w i l l t r igger the A la rm. )

4 . Tap “Smoke/Water sensors” and choose which sensors you want to moni tor ( f ig . 4 ) .

5 . Tap “A le r t w i th S i rens” , se lect wh ich S i -rens shou ld sound the A la rm and for how long , and tap “Done” . A l te rnat ive ly , you may tap “Aud io Not i f icato ins” and use any of the ava i lab le ch imes instead .

6 . Tap “Next ” in the top r ight corner to f in -ish .

Trigger the chime when your Doorbell rings!

1. Open the Smar tTh ings app and go to the automat ion tab ( f ig . 1 ) .

2 . Tap “Add a Smar tApp” ( f ig . 1 ) .

3 . Scro l l down and tap “Mus ic and Sounds” ( f ig . 2 ) .

4 . Now choose “Speaker Not i fy Wi th Sound” ( f ig . 3 ) .

5 . Scro l l down , tap “But ton Press” , choose your doorbe l l , and press Done ( f ig . 4 ) .

6 . Scro l l down fur ther, tap “Act ion” , choose which Ch ime shou ld p lay when the doorbe l l r ings , and press done ( f ig .5) . A l te rnat ive ly , t ype in the labe l o f your des i red ch ime f rom the Main Page of the dev ice hand ler in to the “P lay th is message” box .

7 . Tap “On th is Speaker p layer ” ( f ig . 6 ) .
