Using the CW-Netin a user defined IP network



CW-NetBasically, CableWorld's CW-Net operates in the 10.123.13.xxx IP address range.

User Defined IP-NetCW-Net permits the user to operate the devices and the softwarein his own system, e.g. in the 192.168.1.xxx IP address range.

Data transmission and device control through IP platform



Checking up the connection:

• Set the IP address

• Click the Query button

Connection of the device and thecomputer in the CW-Net network



Reprogramming the IP address of the device

Steps of the reprogramming:

• Set the IP address of the device

• Type the new IP address in the box (+ Enter)

• Push the Replace IP Address button

• The result is shown in the message text box



• Actual setting of the computer's Net Mask: 255.0.0.0

• The device is still accessible (also with CableWorldsoftware)

• It sends response to the Ping instructions

Result of changing the IP address,if the device and the computer are in the same network



• Actual setting of the computer's Net Mask: 255.0.0.0

• The device is not available, the PC does not send outinstructions

• The Ping instructions will not be answered

• New Net Mask: 255.255.255.0

• After the changes, in the new network there isconnection with the device again, the Pinginstructions are answered

Reprogramming the SW-4800 CW-Net Principalsoftware to the new IP address range

Steps of reprogramming thesoftware and establishing connection with the device:

• Switch off using the basicsetting of CW-Net

• Type the new IP addresse.g: 192.168.1.

• Set the 4th byte

• Query the device with theQuery instruction



Querying the devices in the IP network using Auto Search

After setting the IP address range, the network can bequeried with the Auto Search button

• The speed of the query isadjustable

• The process of queryingcan be interrupted

• It is practical to put thedevices on the IP AddressList

• After this the parameterscan be queried with theQuery button



Addressing a device of unknown IP address using the Broadcast message

Note: the device of unknownIP address, possibily presumed to be defective canbe queried with the Boadcast message:

• Set the 255.255.255.255 IPaddress and send outQuery instruction

• For this operation thedevice should be connecteddirectly to the computer



Retrieving the IP address with Broadcast message

• To be used in the case of forgotten or unknown IP address only

• Set the Boadcast adress (255.255.255.255)

• Set the new IP address for the device

• Send out the Replace IP Address command

Setting the SW-4851 software to the new IPaddress range:

• Setting the use of UserDefined IP address

• Typing the first 3 bytes of the new IP address

After setting the new IPaddress all features of thesoftware can be used as in the 10.123.13.x range.

At exiting with the Save and Exit button the settings willbe stored, thus they do not need to be repeated at running the software next time.



Using the SW-4841 ASI to IP and IP to ASI Converter software

Steps of programming and establishing connection with the device:

• Entering the IP address.

• Enroling the new addressin the list using theAdd button.

• Addressing the device byclicking its address inthe roll-down list(sending out the Queryinstruction).

• The answer of the deviceis shown in the middleand the left or righthand side panelaccording to the devicetype.
