Using the Component Pick Release Program

Trigger:

Concept

Component picking, obtaining requirements for specific jobs and schedules, is the process of

moving items from source locations and issuing them to work orders. The Component Pick

Release program is a rules based system for replenishing.

The Component Pick Release program only considers supply type push components in

processing, unless the Release Backflush Components parameter is enabled. This parameter

enables both operation pull and assembly pull supply type components in the pick releaseprocess.

In this topic, you will use the Component Pick Release pages to supply components for a job.

Step Action

1. Begin by navigating to the Component Pick Release page.

Click the vertical scrollbar.

2. Click the Component Pick Release (Form) link.

3. The Find Discrete Jobs page for component picking displays fields to search for

jobs. You can query by job, operation, assembly, and other criteria. You have the

option to pick by a operation sequence range.

4. You can select one, a range, or all jobs.

Click in the Job field.

7. The Component Pick Release page displays in the summary view of push typecomponent requirements for jobs meeting your search criteria.

8. Include in Release check box defaults as enabled for all the records. Uncheck

records you do not want to release, or clear a record from the Edit menu.

9. All the jobs in your search display under the Discrete Jobs node.

Click the + button before the Discrete Jobs tree item.

Click in the Pick Slip Grouping Rule field.

15. Enter the desired information into the Pick Slip Grouping Rule field. Enter

"Order Picking".

17. A confirmation message displays when parts are released.

All jobs displayed in the tree are released for component picking. Move orders are

generated for records where the Include in Release check box is enabled,

regardless of whether you choose Release from the summary or detail page.
