Research
KIPP Academy: Houston, TX
• Proficient or advanced (the 'passing' rate) was 49% percent
higher than in the traditional classrooms with no iPads.
Harcourt: California
• Math test scores increase 20% in one year compared to
students using traditional textbooks.
Northdale Middle School: Coon Rapids, MN
• Increased engagement among disabled students
• Accelerated and improved their learning and comprehension.
Texas A&M University (autism study)
• Decreased behaviors
• Increased instructional
Southern Illinois University: June 2014
iPad® use in children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder:
An observational study
1. Currently using iPads® and applications
2. Explore the role of education professionals on iPad®
3. Application use
4. Determine potential research needs
• the participants used iPads® and applications for a variety of
purposes
• there was considerable variability regarding whether or not the
application was used consistent with its intended function
• presence of an education professional and the type of application
impacted the variability in functional use of the application.
Future Research:
Relevant lines of research that are needed to expand the base of evidence
regarding effective iPad® use in children with ASD are discussed.

ONLY limitation to what students might do in
this vast space is the vision of EDUCATORS.
