Why is networking important

if you aren’t looking for a job?

Jazmine: I like networking because I love examples of my work. While you shouldn’t just network with people in your career field, if you meet the right person, you can find a mentor or just a listening ear for a lifetime.

Phillippia: I enjoy meeting new people

John B. Because communication is at the heart of all healthy relationships. Networking fits under that umbrella for me. It’s intentional relationship building.

Richard D: I enjoy networking because I like meeting new people & learning new things. The downside is meeting people who are obviously seeking personal gain.

Jena: It’s nice asking questions & discussing topics with people that know exactly what you are talking about and what you are dealing with. Also I love learning so much & gaining new perspective on things. Kelly M: because people

are so fascinating! I learn so much when I talk to people. And I get a lot of energy from the passions they have. It feeds my excitement about working in HR.

Jeff P: We can learn from everyone, particularly those that we may not typically agree with by hearing multiple sides of an issue.

Cheryl N: Networking is invigorating to me. I love hearing people’s stories.

Melinda J: human interaction. It fulfills the natural instinct inside me to interact with other humans.

Claire P: I like to learn! Almost everyone I talk to has some organizations, resource, event that I hadn’t heard about and vice versa. Help each other grow! And now I know who to point someone else I know to if they need something that person has.

Sarah M: You get so many perspective and meeting new people. It’s like their elevator pitch & you don’t realize it because you are excited

Kristina: It makes me a better recruiter! It’s also provided me

with great career opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise. It’s

also allowed me to have an incredible amount of support & encouragement. I love hearing

about what people do & what they enjoy the most about their work.

April D: Like is relative #introvert. I network because it helps me to learn from others and if I need a new gig it helps to know people.
