Rafter beekeeping (Tingku)
The tingku system or rafter support for A. dorsata is widely practised in south east Asia (Cambodia, Vietnam, Sumatra & Borneo of Indonesia) mostly in the submerged, lowland Melaleuca forests. The suspended rafter support is placed on two uneven poles with one side higher than the other which serve as nesting support for A. dorsata colonies.

This research was conducted in Marangdistrict of 270 Squire kilometers
The district's topography consists of the South China Sea coast, peat swamps, hills and plains.
The dominant trees/vegetation in this area are Melaleuca spp.,Acacia spp., Coconuts ,Mangrove and Rubber timber
