Over the next few lessons we are going to be learning a new verb tense called the conditional. This is used to say ‘what would happen’ or ‘what you would do’

Conditional tenseThis is used to say what would happen, what somebody would do, what something would be like.

For the conditional tense, there is no need to take any endings off or even worry about whether a verb is –er / -ir / -ar. You simply add the correct ending to the whole verb.

There are a handful of irregular verbs listed above where the stem has a slight change. Check your verb sheet before you conjugate them or use them in a piece of writing.

Hola me llamo Beth. De momento soy bastante pobre pero si ganara la lotería, todo cambiaría.

Primero me compraría un barco enorme y yo sería la capitana. Sería una capitana pirata y tendría una espada.

Luego elegiría a tres amigas muy responsables: probablemente Shawni, Aisha y Shafiqa.

Viajaríamos por la mar y robaríamos otros barcos también buscaríamos tesoros.

Shafiqa lavaría el barco y sería una esclava total. Shawni atraparía los peces para la comida y Aisha me ayudaría con las pistolas y los cañones.

Si estuviera enfadada, forzaría a Shafiqa a caminar la plancha – sería muy divertido porque habría muchos tiburones –jajajaja!!!

Oh y tendría un loro que se llamaría Beakface. El loro sería grande y mordería a mis enemigos.

Tarea: Write a paragraph of 10-12 lines on the topic of…. ….‘¿Qué harías si tuvieras el hoyo negro’

Try to use at least 5 examples of the conditional tense as well as other recyclable vocabulary (opinions, comparatives, exclamations etc)

Underneath are a couple of good examples from previous years, you should use them for ideas but not copy them.

EJEMPLO 1

Si tuviera el hoyo negro primero copiaría la película y robaría todos los Mars bars y Snickers

de la máquina en el gimnasio.

Luego porque quiero ver mis regalos de cumpleaños, entraría en el armario de mi madre

y abriría mis regalos.

Pienso que no deberian cerrar la cantina después de las doce y media entonces abriría la

cantina y comería toda la comida con mis amigas.

También creo que utilizaría el hoyo negro en mi coche para crear más espacio para mis piernas.

EJEMPLO 2

Si tuviera el hoyo negro iría al supermercado y sacaría todos los dulces de los paquetes y los

comería con mi hermana.

Luego asustaría a mis padres cuando miran la tele porque sería posible pegarlos desde la cocina!! Sería muy divertido en mi opinión.

Creo que podría hacer cosas mágicas como por ejemplo sacar cosas de las bolsas de mis amigos

para hacer una sorpresa.
