This checklist is used to setup External Users (Broker/Correspondent) & Internal users (Employees)
Refer to the Tab <Employee Entry-Exit Access> for additional access provided to Internal Employees & documentation on how to grant the access
Minimum Information needed to setup a user

(b) NMLS ID - From Consumer Access
(c) State License # & Expiration Date - From NMLS Consumer Access or State website

Search with the last name. In case the user exists in the list, DO NOT setup the user. Inform the requestor. Ensure that the requestor is sent a screenshot of the person's name in the list & request for SSN & Exact Name.
Check Red Flags in communication documents.
This check is primarily for External Users (Broker/Correspondent). e.g. Verify Email Signature to find if there are mutiple affiliations for the loan officer or if loan officer is associated with other company.
Check that client is not debarred, suspended or in exception.

MOL has been checked for an existing record of the User before creating a new one?
(For e.g. (0,1,2,3,...)<1st Letter of First Name><1st Letter of Last name> <0,1,2…9,A,B,C…Z>) .For client users we should not use the series 0XXX, 1XXX, 4XXX and 5XXX. This series is reserved for SWMC users.
Enter the user prefix, first name, last name, middle name and Suffix (if applicable). The name should match the NMLS for licensed individuals.
If the user branch already exists in MOL, you may get the address from the Company Master detailed screen of MOL by entering the broker company code in “Company Code:” field.
This will always be corporate code for the broker ending with 000. This should be the same in “User-People Master” as well as “User Access Rights”.

Enter the Title if given. -If the Processor/Underwriter works on contract basis, add Title as Contract Processor/Contract Underwriter. Contract Employee are required to have licenses & depends on the state laws which could be verified from NMLS Resource Center: http://mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org/slr/Pages/default.aspx
Default Duty and Default Dept. have been configured in the Personal Info. (User/People Master) screen.
For desired access in SunSOFT, assign the Default Duty and Dept as mentioned in the tab labeled "Default Duty n Dept tab"

User’s License requirements have been verified against the State Requirements?
This is mandatory for Loan Officers as per state requirement. However, license validation is done for all users that are setup.
For states Delaware (DE), Maine (ME) and Missouri (MO), if license details are not found on NMLS, verify them on state licensing website.

License information need to be enteredUser’s License Details (License Type, License #, Expiry Date, State). Choose 3 - MLO license registration for Loan officers. For other this should be blank.
Other License (In screen 15436) User Licensing Details - Screen No. 15436.Enter the User ID, Start with the count 001,002,003..., Select '00' for MLO license/Registration, Enter 'License Number' as mentioned in the request form or verified on website, Enter 'Exp Date' - Expiration Date, Enter 'St' - State, Change the status of the license added to ACTIVE.

Company Restricted To has been set as the Broker Company ending with 000?
This is mandatory for External Users. This field restricts the user access to the company they belong to.
