However,M200 will automatically decide its availablecapacity(LBAnumber)byadoptingthesmallerdriveasitssourcedrive(regardlessit islocatedatupperorlowerbay)afterNDDbuttonistriggeredlater.

Q&A and Troubleshooting

1. Problem: The BIOSor Windows/Linux can only detect 8GB ofARAID M200 with500GBdrive(s).

Troubleshooting: This problem occurs when the “NDD” button wasn’t properlypressedwhileARAIDM200isdetectingnewlyinstalleddrive(s).Ensureallcablesarecorrectlyconnected,turnonthepoweragainandfirmlypressthe“NDD”buttonfor2seconds.ARAIDM200’sLCDwillshowcapacity&brandofdrive(s)youinstalledandthenthePC’sBIOSshouldbeabletodetectthereafter.

2. Question: MayImixtwoSATAII(3G)driveswithdifferentcapacities?Answer: Two drives with different capacities (LBA orSectors amount are different)maybeused inARAIDM200whentheymeet followingconditions(a)Havenobadsector and in prefectmechanical and electrical condition (b)Samebrand, samefamily(c)capacitydifferenceisrarelyaproblemunlessthedifferenceexceeds30%.Accordance strongly recommends using identical drives.

3. Question: If I mix two SATA II (3G) drives with different capacities, are there anyprecautionsIshouldtake?

Answer: Putthesmallercapacitydriveinupperbayandthelargeroneinlowerbayisrecommended.Butafteryoutriggerthe“NDD”button,ARAIDM200canautomaticallyre-detect and memorize the smaller drive and report to PC correctly regardless itsposition.

4. Question: What should I be awareofwhen I plan to replacea failed drivewith abrandnewone?

Answer: You don’t need to shut down the PC orARAIDM200, just remove themalfunctioningdrive and re-insert the newdrive while theARAID M200 is online.Thecapacity(LBAamount)mustbeequalorgreaterthantheolddrive.DonotmixaSATAI(1.5G)drivewithSATAII(3G)driveintheARAID.
