This manual contains the operatinginstructions for your combinationgas/electric year-round airconditioner. There are precautionsthat should be taken to maximizesatisfaction from this air conditioner.

IMPORTANT: COMPLETELY READALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TOATTEMPTING TO OPERATE ORMAINTAIN THE PRODUCT.

This unit has been designed to giveyou many years of efficient,dependable comfort. With regularmaintenance, your unit will operatesatisfactorily year after year. Pleaseread this manual to familiarizeyourself with operation, maintenanceand safety procedures.

SAFETYCarefully follow these safety rules:

1. The area around the unit must bekept clear and free of allcombustible materials includinggasoline and other flammablevapors and liquids.

2. Do not block the combustion airinlets or the exhaust air outletopenings. See Figures 1 and 2.

3. Do not operate the unit withoutall panels and doors securely inplace.

5. A gas burner needs an adequatesupply of combustion andventilation air for proper and safeoperation. Do not block orobstruct air openings on the unit.Do not place anything around theunit that could block the flow offresh air to the unit.

6. Do not use this unit if any parthas been under water.Immediately call a qualifiedinstaller, service agency or thegas supplier to inspect the unitand to replace any part of thecontrol system or any gas controlthat has been under water.

7. The combustion air inlet/exhaustoutlet hood and surrounding areaare very hot when operating inheating mode. Do not allowchildren to play on or aroundthe unit.

DO NOT USE THIS FURNACE IFANY PART HAS BEEN UNDERWATER. A FLOOD-DAMAGEDFURNACE IS EXTREMELYDANGEROUS. ATTEMPTS TO USETHE FURNACE CAN RESULT INFIRE OR EXPLOSION. AQUALIFIED SERVICE AGENCYSHOULD BE CONTACTED TOINSPECT THE FURNACE AND TOREPLACE ALL GAS CONTROLS,CONTROL SYSTEM PARTS,ELECTRICAL PARTS THAT HAVEBEEN WET OR THE FURNACE IFDEEMED NECESSARY.

SYSTEM OPERATIONINFORMATIONAdvice to the Customer1. Keep the filter clean. Your system

will operate more efficiently andprovide better conditioned air.

2. Arrange your furniture anddrapes so that the supply andreturn air registers and grilles areunobstructed.

3. Close doors and windows. Thiswill reduce the cooling load onyour system for a moreeconomical operation.

4. Avoid excessive use of exhaustfans.

5. Window shades and awnings willreduce the cooling load.

6. Do not permit the heat generatedby television, lamps or radios toinfluence the thermostatoperation.

7. Except for the mounting platform,keep all combustible articlesthree feet from the unit andexhaust system.

8. Unless you plan to removepanels to service the unit, do notdisconnect the main power toyour unit. This is a safetyprecaution for the protection ofthe compressor. Otherwise, usethe thermostat switches to shutthe system off.

9. For extended periods ofinoperation, set the thermostatsystem switch in the “OFF”position and fan switch in the“AUTO” position.

10. Do not allow the unit to become aplay stand for children.

THERMOSTAT OPERATIONWe find most air conditioning unitsare installed with a single stageheating and cooling thermostat whichincludes a manual heat/cool systemswitch and a manual auto/on fanswitch.

For cooling, position the systemswitch to “Cool” and the fan switch to“Auto.” If constant fan operation isdesired, place the fan switch in the“On” position.

When heating is desired, position thesystem switch to “HEAT” and place thefan switch in the “Auto” position.

During the heating season, theoperation of the warm air furnace isautomatic. Your installing dealer hasprovided a wall mounted thermostatwhich is sensitive to the change in thetemperature of the air moving aroundthe thermostat. When the temperatureof the air within the heated spacesurrounding the thermostat decreases,the thermostat switch functions toinitiate the ignition sequence and openthe gas valve.

The spark ignitor located on the mainburner tray will safely ignite the gas(natural or LP) leaving the main burnerports. After approximately 30 secondsof burner operation, the blower controlwill start the blower. Warm air shouldnow gently circulate from the supplydiffusers throughout the dwelling andreturn to the furnace through return airgrille(s).

When the temperature of thecirculating air reaches the temperaturesetting of the thermostat, the gas valvewill reclose, the heat exchanger willcool, and the blower will shut off after90 seconds.

In the cooling mode, the compressorand circulation air motor are energizedupon a call for cooling. When thethermostat is satisfied or turned to the“OFF” position, the compressor is de-energized, but the circulation air blowercontinues to operate for approximately60 seconds to extract the residualcooling left in the cooling coil.

We suggest that you experiment withconstant air circulation during theheating and cooling cycles. To achievethis style of operation, place the fanswitch on the thermostat subbase tothe “on” position. You may enjoy thecomfort associated with the continuousair movement, constant air filtration,and the near even temperature fromfloor to ceiling.

With continuous air circulation, somecondensation on the cooling coil canreevaporate at the end of each cycleand cause a buildup of humidity priorto the next cooling cycle.

SELECTION OF ROOMTEMPERATUREIt is most important to select thecomfort temperature you desire foreither heating or cooling by use of thethermostat temperature selector.

DO NOT PLAY WITH THETHERMOSTAT. SET IT AND FORGETIT.

Most single phase cooling units areoperated without start relay or startcapacitor. It is important that suchsystems be off for a minimum of 5minutes in between starts beforerestarting in order to allow equalizationof refrigeration pressures. If thethermostat stops the unit, or isreadjusted and the unit stops, thethermostat should not be moved tostart the unit without waiting 5 minutes.To do so may cause the compressor tostop on automatic opening overloaddevice or blow a fuse to preventdamage to the compressor. Poorincoming electrical service can causenuisance tripping of overloads or blowfuses.

If the temperature selection procedureis new to you, ask your installingcontractor to familiarize you with theoperation of the thermostat.

IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THESEINSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY, A FIRE OREXPLOSION MAY RESULT CAUSINGPROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONALINJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE.

A. This appliance is equipped with anignition device which automaticallylights the burners. Do not try to light theburners by hand.

B. BEFORE OPERATING smell allaround the appliance area for gas. Besure to smell next to the groundbecause some gas is heavier than airand will settle on the ground.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS• Do not try to light any appliance.• Do not touch any electric switch, do

not use any phone in your building.• Immediately call your gas supplier

from a neighbor’s phone. Follow thegas supplier’s instructions.

• If you cannot reach your gassupplier, call the fire depart- ment.

• Do not return to your home untilauthorized by the gas supplier forfire department.

C. Use only your hand to push in orturn the gas control knob. Never usetools. If the knob will not push in orturn by hand, don’t try to repair it,call a qualified installer, serviceagency or the gas supplier. Force orattempted repair may result in a fireor explosion.

D. Do not use this appliance if any parthas been under water. Immediatelycall a qualified installer, serviceagency or the gas supplier toinspect the appliance and to replaceany part of the control system andany gas control valve, electricalcomponents, motors or burnerswhich have been under water.

SEQUENCE OF OPERATIONThis unit is equipped with an integratedcirculating air blower/induced draftblower control board that works inconjunction with a remote sense directspark ignition control.

1. Each time thermostat contactsclose, the induced draft bloweroperates a prepurge cycle.

2. The air proving negative pressureswitch closes.

3. The main gas burner cycle starts.

HEATING OPERATION4. Thirty seconds after the pressure

switch closes, the gas valveopens and the ignitor sparks forapproximately 7 seconds or untilthe remote flame is sensed at theremote flame sensor. The induceddraft blower continues to run for thecomplete heating cycle.

5. If the flame is not sensed duringthis 7 second trial for ignition, thecontrol will repeat the prepurgecycle and ignition cycle two (2)additional times if needed.

6. After a total of three (3) cycleswithout sensing main burner flame,the system will then go into a 100%lockout mode.

7. After one hour, the ignition controlwill repeat the prepurge andignition cycles for 3 tries and thengo into 100% lockout mode again.

8. It will continue this sequence ofcycles and lockout each hour untilignition is successful or power isinterrupted.

9. During the lockout mode, neitherthe ignitor or the gas valve will beenergized until the system is resetby turning the thermostat to the“OFF” position or interrupting theelectrical power to the unit for 10seconds or longer.

10. The induced draft blower and mainburner will shut off when thethermostat is satisfied.

11. The fixed time blower control willstart the circulating air blower onthe heat speed approximatelytwenty to thirty (20 to 30)seconds after the main burnersare ignited.

12. The circulating air blower willcontinue to run during the burneroperation and then shut down atapproximately ninety (90)seconds after the thermostatis satisfied and the burnersare shut off.

13. The circulating air blower willstart and run on the heat speedif the thermostat fan switch is inthe “ON” position.

SUMMARY OF NORMALFURNACE OPERATINGSEQUENCE1. Thermostat calls for heat

8. Thermostat is satisfied andopens.

9. The gas valve is de-energizedand closes, shutting down theburner flame.

10. The circulating air blower is de-energized after 90 seconds.

11. Set the thermostat to the desiredsetting.

12. If the appliance will not operate,follow the instructions below onhow to shut down the furnace.

THE SPARK IGNITOR ANDIGNITION LEAD FROM THEIGNITION CONTROL ARE HIGHVOLTAGE. KEEP HANDS ORTOOLS AWAY TO PREVENTHAZARD FROM ELECTRICALSHOCK WHICH CAN RESULT INSEVERE PERSONAL INJURY ORDEATH. SHUT OFF ELECTRICALPOWER BEFORE SERVICING ANYOF THE CONTROLS.

The initial start-up on a newinstallation may require the controlsystem to be energized for sometime until any air has bled throughthe system and fuel gas is availableat the burners.

TO SHUT DOWN FURNACE

1. Set the room thermostat to thelowest setting.

2. Turn off all electric power to theappliance if service is to beperformed.

3. Remove control door.

4. Move switch to the “OFF”position.

5. Replace control door.

MANUAL RESETOVERTEMPERATURECONTROLA manual reset limit control is locatedon the burner shield. This devicesenses blockage in the heatexchanger or insufficient combustionair. This will shut off the main burnersif excessive temperatures occur inthe burner compartment.

LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONSThis appliance is equipped with adirect spark intermittent ignitiondevice. This device lights the mainburners each time the roomthermostat (closes) calls for heat.See lighting instruction on thefurnace.

TO START THE FURNACE

1. STOP! Read the safetyinformation on the OperatingInstructions Label located on thisappliance.

IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THESEINSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY, A FIREOR EXPLOSION MAY RESULTCAUSING PROPERTY DAMAGE,PERSONAL INJURY OR LOSS OFLIFE.

2. Set the room thermostat to itslowest setting.

3. Turn off all electric power to theappliance.

4. This appliance does not have apilot. It is equipped with anignition device whichautomatically lights the burner.Do NOT try to light the burner byhand.

5. Remove control door/accesspanel.

6. Move the switch to the “OFF”position.

7. Wait five (5) minutes to clear outany gas. Then smell for gas,including near the floor. If yousmell gas, STOP!

• Do not try to light anyappliance.

• Do not touch any electricswitch; do not use any phonein your building.

• Immediately call your gassupplier from a neighbor’sphone. Follow the gassupplier’s instructions.

• If you cannot reach your gassupplier, call the firedepartment.

If you don’t smell gas, go to thenext step.

8. Move “OFF” position to “ON”position.

9. Replace the control door.

10. Turn on all electrical power toappliance.

COOLING OPERATIONTo Operate Cooling SystemTo Start: Set thermostat at desiredsetting with system switch on “Cool”and fan switch on “Auto” or “On”position.

To Shut Down: Set thermostat to“Off” position.

SEQUENCE OF OPERATION- COOLING1. Thermostat calls for cooling.

2. Compressor, condenser fanmotor, and circulation air blowerare energized.

3. Thermostat is satisfied andopens.

4. Compressor and condenser fanmotor are de-energized.

5. Circulation air blower is de-energized after 60 seconds.

GENERAL INFORMATION -COOLING1. If your outdoor unit is equipped

with an optional external manualhigh pressure switch resetbutton, have your servicingcontractor familiarize you with itslocation. Many models havecompressors equipped withinternal pressure relief valvesusing an automatic reset featureeliminating the need for anexternal control. This highpressure switch or the relief valvewill open under excessive highpressures to protect thecompressor. Some models withinternal relief valves will requirepower interruption prior toresetting itself. The highrefrigerant pressure may be dueto a temporary condition, so ifyour unit is equipped with a resetbutton, you may reset it asrequired. However, if the problempersists, refer to Item 3, and/orrefer the problem to yourservicing contractor.

2. If the condenser coil is allowed tobecome restricted by dirt, lint,paper, grass clippings, leaves,etc., the system efficiency willsuffer and abnormally highrefrigerant operating pressureswill result. To correct thiscondition, be sure to first cut offpower to the unit and then cleansuch material from the condensercoil and cabinet. Using a gardenhose with a nozzle can beeffective in cleaning thecondenser coil, but the watershould be sprayed from theinside to outside of the coil in theopposite direction from thenormal airflow. Disconnect themain power before washing thecoil.

3. If you know or suspect that thecompressor s not working, youshould place the thermostatsystem switch on the thermostatsubbase to the “Off” position.This will stop the operation of thecompressor/condenser unit.

4. If you suspect that a coolingproblem has developed with yoursystem and before you adviseyou servicing contractor, wesuggest you check the followingservice hints.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

DISCONNECT MAIN ELECTRICALPOWER TO THE UNIT BEFOREATTEMPTING ANYMAINTENANCE. FAILURE TO DOSO CAN RESULT IN SEVEREELECTRICAL SHOCK OR DEATH.

Routine maintenance to beprovided by a qualified installer,service agency or the gas supplierONLY.

COMBUSTION AREA ANDEXHAUST SYSTEM1. It is recommended that an annual

inspection of your furnace bedone by a qualified installer,service agency or the gassupplier.

2. Turn OFF the electrical supply tothe furnace and remove theaccess doors.

3. Inspect the gas burners andburner compartment for dirt, rust,or scale.

IF DIRT, RUST, SOOT OR SCALEACCUMULATIONS ARE PRESENT,DO NOT OPERATE THISFURNACE. INSPECT THE HEATEXCHANGERS FOR LEAKS.LEAKS CAN CAUSE TOXIC FUMESTO ENTER THE HOME ANDCAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.

4. Inspect the exhaust area insideand outside the applianceincluding the exhaust transitionpiece and the exhaust hood. Besure that the exhaust transitionpiece (inside the appliance) andthe hood are in place and arephysically sound, without holesor excessive corrosion. If thesecomponents have deteriorated,have a qualified serviceprofessional replace them usingfactory specified or approvedreplacement parts only.

5. Be sure that the return air ductconnections are physically soundand are sealed to the unit.

6. Look for obvious signs ofdeterioration of the unit.

7. If the unit is free of the aboveconditions, replace all accessdoors, except furnace accesspanel, and restore electricalpower to the unit.

8. Make sure control box cover is inplace. Start the furnace andobserve its operation. Watch theburner flames to see if they arebright blue. If a suspectedmalfunction is observed, or theburner flames are not bright blue,apply appropriate service.

EXAMINATION OFINSTALLATION1. The combustion air inlets and

combustion air outlets must beclear and free of obstructions.

2. The return and supply ductconnections should be physicallysound and sealed where theyconnect to the unit.

3. Check for obvious signs ofdeterioration of the unit.

4. CONDENSATE DRAIN — Checkannually and, if necessary, cleandrain pan and drain line. SeeFigures 1 and 2 for location ofdrain lines. In winter, keep drainand trap dry or protect againstfreeze-up.

5. The blower compartment andmotor should be inspected andcleaned periodically by yourqualified installer, service agencyor the gas supplier to prevent thepossibility of overheating due toan accumulation of dust and dirton the windings or on the motorexterior. And, as suggestedelsewhere in these instructions,the air filters should be keptclean because dirty filters canrestrict airflow and the motordepends upon sufficient airflowing across and through it tokeep from overheating.

6. Perform the examinationannually to insure properoperation.

FILTER MAINTENANCEHave your qualified installer, serviceagency or the gas supplier instructyou on how to access your filters forregular maintenance.

DISCONNECT THE MAIN POWERTO THE OUTDOOR UNIT BEFOREATTEMPTING ANY MAINTENANCEOPERATION. FAILURE TO DO SOCAN RESULT IN SEVEREELECTRICAL SHOCK OR DEATH.

1. Keep air filters clean. There areseveral types of material used inair filters and there are manypossible locations for air filters.Consult with your contractor as tothe locations of the filters andtype of material in use.

2. How To Clean:

Glass Fiber (Throwaway) —This is a disposable type of filter.Inspect monthly and replacewhen necessary. A new home orbuilding will normally requiremore frequent attention to thefilters.

Aluminum Mesh — Wash withdetergent and water. Air drythoroughly and renew the coatingin compliance with themanufacturer’s instructions.

Plastic Impregnated Fiber —Wash with detergent and wateror vacuum clean, then reinstall.

IMPORTANT: Do not operateyour system for extended periodswithout filters, as the dustentrained in the air may pack intothe fin area of the evaporator coilcreating a condition which couldrequire extensive repairs.

L’entretien de routine doit êtreeffectué UNIQUEMENT par uninstallateur ou une agence qualifiéeou la compagnie de gaz.

REGION DE COMBUSTION ETSYSTÈME DE VENTILATION1.Nous recommandons une

inspection annuelle de votrechaudière par un installateur ouune agence qualifiée ou unecompagnie de gaz.

2.COUPEZ l’arrivée du gaz à l’unitéet enlevez les portes d’accès.

3.Inspectez les brûleurs pour ydétecter la saleté, la rouille et lesécailles.

4.Inspectez la région de la conduitede ventilation à l’intérieur etl’extérieur de l’unité, ainsi que laconnexion de la cheminée et lacheminée elle-même. Assurez-vous que la connexion de lacheminée (à l’intérieur de l’unité) etla cheminée sont en placephysiquement intactes, sans trousou corrosion excessive. Si cescomposants ont été endommagés,faites les remplacer par unréparateur qualifié avec des piècesapprouvées par l’usine.

5.Assurez-vous que les connexionsdes conduits de retour d’air sontphysiquement intactes,connectées de façon étanche à lachaudière et que leur extrémitédébouche sur l’extérieur.

6.Inspectez la chaudière pour toussignes de détérioration.

7.Si la chaudière ne présente pasles signes ci-dessus, replaceztoutes les portes d’accès, sauf lepanneau d’accès à la chaudière,et restaurez l’alimentationélectrique de la chaudière.

8.Assurez-vous que le cache duboîtier de contrôle soit en place.Faites démarrer la chaudière etobservez son fonctionnement.Observez les flammes desbrûleurs pour vérifier qu’elles sontbleu vif. Si vous suspectez unepanne ou si la flamme n’apparaîtpas d’un bleu vif, effectuez lesréparations qui s’imposent.

Fibres de verre (jetable) — C’estun filtre jetable. Inspectez une foispar mois et remplacez le caséchéant. Remplacez le filtre plussouvent pour une maison neuve.

Mailles en aluminium — Lavezavec de l’eau et un détergent.Séchez à l’air et renouvelez lacouche de peinture selon lesinstructions du fabricant.

Fibres imprégnées de plastique — Lavez avec de l’eauet un détergent ou à l’aspirateur.

IMPORTANT : N’utilisez pas votreunité pendant des périodesprolongées sans les filtres. Lespoussières entraînées risquent dese coincer dans les ailettes duserpentin intérieur et nécessiterdes réparations coûteuses.

INFORMATIONS GÉNÉRALESSUR L’AIR CONDITIONNÉ1.Si votre unité est équipée d’un

bouton de mise remise à zéromanuel extérieur de hautepression, demandez à votreinstallateur de vous familiariseravec son fonctionnement et sonemplacement. De nombreuxmodèles ont un compresseur munid’une vanne de sécurité internequi remplace le contrôle externe.Le bouton ou la vanne de sécurités’ouvre si la pression est trop fortepour protéger le compresseur.Certains modèles avec vanne desécurité interne nécessitent quevous coupiez le courant pour qu’ilsse remettent à zéro. La fortepression du réfrigérant peut êtredue à une condition temporaire. Sivotre unité est munie d’unsystème de sécurité, vous devezle remettre à zéro. Cependant si leproblème persiste, référez-vousau nº 3 ou au techniciend’entretien.

2.Si le serpentin de condensationest bloqué par des saletés, dupapier, des débris de pelouse, desfeuilles, etc. l’efficacité du systèmediminue et la pression duréfrigérant augmenteanormalement. Pour corriger ceproblème, assurez-vous toutd’abord de couper l’alimentationélectrique avant de nettoyer tousces débris du serpentin ducondensateur et de l’intérieur del’unité. Vous pouvez utiliser un jetd’eau, mais faites passer l’eaudans le sens contraire du flux d’air.

3.Si vous savez, ou suspectez quele compresseur de la sectionextérieur ne fonctionne pas,placez le thermostat dans laposition OFF. Ceci arrêtera l’unitéextérieure.

4.Si vous suspectez qu’un problèmeest apparu dans le système derefroidissement, et avant d’appelerun réparateur, nous vousconseillons de procéder auxvérifications suivantes.

3.Enlevez la porte des commandes

4.Passez le commutateur enposition d’arrêt (OFF).

EN CAS DE SURCHAUFFE OU SIL’ALIMENTATION DU GAZ NES’ARRÊTE PAS, FERMEZ LAVANNE MANUELLE D’ARRIVÉE DUGAZ AVANT DE COUPERL’ALIMENTATION ÉLECTRIQUE.DANS LE CAS CONTRAIRE, VOUSRISQUEZ UNE EXPLOSION OU UNINCENDIE ENTRAÎNANT DESDÉGÂTS MATÉRIELS, DESBLESSURES OU MÊME LA MORT.

CONTRÔLE MANUEL DESURCHAUFFELe contrôle manuel de surchauffe estsitué sur le protecteur du brûleur. Cetappareil détecte les blocages dansl’échangeur thermique et l’insuffisanced’air de combustion. Il arrête ensuite lebrûleur principal en cas detempérature excessive dans lecompartiment du brûleur.

INSTRUCTIONS D’ALLUMAGECette chaudière est équipée d’unallumage intermittent à étincelledirecte. Chaque fois que le thermostatdétermine qu’il faut chauffer, l’unitéallume les brûleurs directement.Référez-vous aux instructionsd’allumage situées sur la chaudière.

POUR ALLUMER LA CHAUDIÈRE

1.STOP! Lisez les instructions desécurité mentionnées surl’étiquette.

2.Fixez le thermostat de la pièce àson réglage le plus bas.

3.Coupez toute alimentationélectrique de l’appareil.

4.Cet appareil n’a pas de veilleuse.Il est équipé d’un dispositifd’allumage qui activeautomatiquement le brûleur.N’essayez PASd’allumer lebrûleur à la main.

5.Enlevez la porte descommandes/le panneau d’accès.

6.Passez le commutateur enposition d’arrêt (OFF).

7.Attendez cinq (5) minutes pourdissiper tout gaz éventuel. Puissentez s’il y a du gaz, y comprisprès du sol. Si vous détectez dugaz, STOPPEZ tout!

• Ne mettez aucun appareil enmarche.

• Ne touchez à aucun interrupteurélectrique ; n’utilisez aucuntéléphone dans votre bâtiment.

• Appelez immédiatement votrecompagnie de gaz de chez unvoisin. Suivez les instructions dela compagnie de gaz.

• Si vous ne pouvez pas joindrevotre compagnie de gaz, appelezles pompiers.

Si vous ne sentez pas de gaz,passez à l’étape suivante.

8.Passez le commutateur de saposition d’arrêt (OFF) à celle demarche (ON).

9.Remettez en place la porte descommandes.

10.Rétablissez l’alimentationélectrique de l’appareil.

11.Passez le thermostat sur leréglage voulu.

SÉQUENCE DE FONCTIONNEMENTCette chaudière est équipée d’une cartede contrôle intégrée pour le souffleurd’air froid ou chaud qui fonctionne entandem avec un contrôle d’allumagedirect à distance.

1.Chaque fois que les contacts duthermostat se ferment, la souffleriedu flux induit commence un cycle depré-purge.

2.L’interrupteur de pression négativede l’air de ferme.

3.Le cycle du brûleur principalcommence.

FONCTIONNEMENT DU CHAUFFAGE4.30 secondes plus tard,

l’interrupteur de pressionnégative de l’air se ferme, lavanne de gaz s’ouvre etl’allumage à étincelle fonctionnependant environ 7 secondesoujusqu’à ce que la flamme soitdétectée par le détecteur à distance.La soufflerie de flux induit fonctionnependant tout le cycle de chauffage.

5.Si la flamme n’est pas détectéependant les 7 secondes d’allumage,le contrôle recommence le cycle depré-purge et d’allumage deux (2) fois.

6.Après trois (3) cycles sans détectionde flamme sur le brûleur principal, lesystème se bloque à 100%.

7.Une heure plus tard, le contrôled’allumage répète le cycle de pré-purge et d’allumagetrois fois avantde retourner dans le mode deblocage.

8.Cette séquence continue une foispar heure jusqu’à allumage oucoupure de l’alimentation électrique.

9.Durant le mode de blocage, ni lesystème d’allumage ni la vanne dugaz ne peuvent être mis soustension avant que le système ne soitremis à zéro en plaçant le thermostatdans la position “OFF” ou en coupantl’alimentation électrique de l’unitépendant au moins 10 secondes.

10.Le souffleur d’air chaud et le brûleurprincipal s’arrêtent lorsque lethermostat est satisfait.

11.Le contrôleur à délai du souffleur faitdémarrer celui-ci sur la vitesse dechauffage environ vingt à trente (20à 30) secondes après l’allumagedu brûleur principal.

12.Le souffleur de circulation resteen marche tant que les brûleurssont allumés et s’arrête environ90 secondes après que lethermostat soit satisfait et lesbrûleurs éteints.

13.Le souffleur se met en marche en fonction de la chaleur sil’interrupteur du thermostat est sur ON.

9.La vanne du gaz est hors tensionet ferme et les flammes du brûleurs’éteignent.

10.Le souffleur de circulation est mishors tension après 90 secondes.

7.À part la plate-forme de montage,maintenez tous les combustibles à3 pieds au moins de la chaudièreet du système de ventilation.

8.À moins que vous ne vouliezretirer un panneau pour entretenirl’unité, ne coupez pasl’alimentation électrique de l’unité.C’est une mesure de sécurité pourle compresseur. Utilisez plutôt lethermostat pour arrêter le système.

9.Pour les périodes d’arrêt prolongé,placez l’interrupteur du thermostatsur la position OFF et celui duventilateur sur la position AUTO.

10.Nous vous suggérons d’empêcherles enfants de jouer sur l’unitéextérieure.

FONCTIONNEMENT DU THERMOSTATLa plupart des unités d’air conditionnésont installées avec un thermostat dechauffage et refroidissement à un seulniveau comprenant un interrupteurmanuel (HEAT/COOL) chaud/froid etun autre AUTO/ON (auto/marche).

Pour le refroidissement, placezl’interrupteur en position COOLetl’autre en position AUTO. Si vousdésirez que le ventilateur fonctionneen permanence, placez-le en positionON.

Pour la saison froide, placezl’interrupteur en position HEATetl’autre en position AUTO.

Pendant la saison froide, lefonctionnement de la chaudière estautomatique. Votre installateur ouagence qualifiée ou la compagnie degaz a installé un thermostat muralsensible aux changements detempérature de l’air qui circule auxalentours. Lorsque la températureautour du thermostat diminue, ildéclenche l’ouverture de la vanne dugaz.

L’étincelle d’allumage du brûleurprincipal allume le gaz (naturel oupropane) qui sort par les orifices.Environ 30 secondes après ledémarrage du brûleur, le contrôleur dusouffleur lance le souffleur. L’air chaudcircule alors discrètement par lesdiffuseurs situés dans l’habitation etretourne à la chaudière par les grilles.

Lorsque la température de l’air encirculation atteint celle réglée sur lethermostat, la vanne du gaz se ferme,l’échangeur thermique refroidit et lesouffleur s’arrête 90 secondes plustard.

Dans le mode refroidissement, lesmoteurs du compresseur et decirculation d’air sont mis en routelorsque le thermostat commande lerefroidissement. Lorsque le thermostatest satisfait, ou qu’il est mis enposition “OFF”, le compresseur estmis hors tension, mais le souffleurd’air continue de fonctionner pendantenviron 60 secondes pour extraire lacapacité de refroidissement encoreprésente au niveau du serpentin.

Nous vous conseillons d’essayer lemode de circulation permanentedel’air pour le chauffage et lerefroidissement. Pour ceci, placezl’interrupteur en position “ON”. Vouspourrez ainsi profiter du confortassocié à la circulation d’airpermanente, la filtration de l’air etl’uniformité de la température du solau plafond.

Une partie du condensat sur leserpentin de refroidissement peuts’évaporer à la fin de chaque cycle etcréer une accumulation d’humiditédurant le cycle de refroidissement.

SÉLECTION DE LA TEMPÉRATUREIl est très important de sélectionner surle thermostat la température confortableen saison chaude comme en saisonfroide.

NE TOUCHEZ PAS AU THERMOSTAT.RÉGLEZ-LE ET LAISSEZ-LETRANQUILLE.

La plupart des unités monophasées àun seul niveau fonctionnent sans relaisou capacité de démarrage. Pour de telssystèmes, il est important d’attendre 5minutes entre deux démarrages pourpermettre l’équilibrage des pressions deréfrigération. Si le thermostat arrêtel’unité, ou s’il est ajusté et arrête l’unité,le thermostat ne doit pas être ajustépour relancer l’unité avant 5 minutes.Dans le cas contraire, le compresseurrisque de s’arrêter pour protection parl’ouverture d’un système de surchargeou en brûlant un fusible. Unealimentation électrique de mauvaisequalité peut également déclencherintempestivement ces mécanismes desécurité.

Si le réglage de la température ne vousest pas familier, demandez à votreinstallateur de vous expliquer l’utilisationdu thermostat.

NE LAISSEZ PAS LES FEUILLES,LES DÉBRIS DE GAZON, LESMAUVAISES HERBES, LE LIERRE,LES BUISSONS OU LA NEIGES’ACCUMULER AUTOUR DEL’UNITÉ.FAITES ATTENTION ENPARTICULIER AUX CONDUITSD’ENTRÉE ET DE SORTIE D’AIR ETAUX AILETTES DECONDENSATION. DANS LE CASCONTRAIRE, VOUS RISQUEZD’AFFECTER LES PERFORMANCESDE L’UNITÉ, OU D’ENTRAÎNER UNRISQUE D’INCENDIE QUI PEUTENDOMMAGER LE MATÉRIEL ETRÉSULTER EN DES BLESSURESGRAVES OU MÊME LA MORT.

7.Les cheminées d’entrée et desortie de l’air de combustion et lesenvirons sont très chauds lorsquel’unité fonctionne en modechauffage.Ne laissez pas lesenfants jouer près de l’unité oumême dessus.

N’UTILISEZ PAS CE FOUR SITOUTE PARTIE A ÉTÉ SOUS L’EAU.UN FOUR ENDOMMAGÉ PARINONDATION EST EXTRÊMEMENTDANGEREUX. LES TENTATIVESD’UTILISER LE FOUR PEUVENTAVOIR COMME CONSÉQUENCEL’INCENDIE OU L’EXPLOSION. 5.Toute chaudière nécessite unealimentation suffisante en air decombustion et de ventilation pourun fonctionnement correct et sûr.Ne bloquez pas les conduites d’airde la chaudière ou de la piècedans laquelle elle est installée.N’entreposez rien aux alentoursde la chaudière qui puisse bloquerde flot d’air frais autour de celle-ci.

6.N’utilisez pas cette unité lorsqu’undes composants a été submergé.Appelez immédiatement uninstallateur ou agence qualifiée oula compagnie de gaz pourinspecter l’unité et remplacer lescomposants du système decontrôle et les vannes de gaz quiont été submergés.
