1) Introduction

1.1) Audience

Users of this software application will be from Universities/Colleges and UGC. The users are expected to have a basic understanding of using a computer and familiarity with the usage of keyboard and mouse.

1.2) Purpose of this document

This document attempts to describe the operational aspects of the software application with a view to assist all those who will be using the software. The document provides step-wise instructions for handling various aspects of the software with visual screens for easy and better understanding. It also describes the error messages encountered while working with the software with appropriate remedial actions required to be taken by you.

1.3) Conventions

The document follows the font settings for Chapter Heading, Sub-Headings at various levels and text as indicated below:

Chapter Heading – Arial Black, 12 pt, Bold

Sub-Heading Level 1 – Arial Black, 10 pt, Bold

Sub-Heading Level 2 – Arial, 10 pt, Bold

Body Text – Arial, 10 pt

1.7) User organization

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is a nodal agency for coordination, determination and maintenance of standard of teaching, research, extension and examination in the university system of higher Education in India. In order to ensure effective region-wise coverage throughout the country, the UGC has decentralized its operations by setting up six regional centers at Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bhopal, Guwahati and Bangalore. The head office of the UGC is located at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in New Delhi, with two additional bureaus operating from 35, Feroze Shah Road and the South Campus of University of Delhi as well. Its objective is as follows

Promoting and coordinating university education

Determining and maintaining standards of teaching, examination and research in universities

Framing regulations on minimum standards of education

Monitoring developments in the field of collegiate and university education

Disbursing grants to the universities and colleges

Serving as a vital link between the Union and the State governments and institutions of higher education

Advising the Union and the State governments on the measures necessary for improvement of university education

In order to achieve the objective, number of schemes has been implemented by UGC. One such scheme is “Development of Women Studies in Indian Universities and Colleges”

2) Product Features

This application captures the complete life cycle of “User Management” starting from user registration to password recovery and user id recovery in case of user forgot to same.

User id creation of applicants.

Forgot Password.

Forgot User id.

3) User Registration

UGC scheme Portal (http://eschemeugc.gov.in) has provision of 7 types of users as mentioned below.

Part A (Registration of University Registrar, UGC officer, College Principal):

1: Intended user access url http://eschemeugc.gov.in. Home page will appear to his/her.

2: User clicks on link New User, it will redirect you to userRegistrationHelp page as shown in figure.

3: From this page university registrar & College Principal may download authority letter format, fill it, get signed it. 4: Once user clicks on Continue, user is redirected to userRegistrationPage as shown in figure

5: User picks up his role from Role control, In case of university registrar & College Principal user id (AISHE code) is automatically populated from database. User enters/ selects required information and attaches required documents in the form. In case of UGC officer, he/she will enter his employee id of UGC. Note: 1: * fields are mandatory. 2: All attachments must be in pdf format and size not more than one MB. 3: In case of University Registrar/College Principal user id will be Aishe code of respected institution while in case of UGC officer employee id of UGC will be his user id. 6: As user’s clicks on preview button, following message appears to his/her.

7: After clicking on OK button, Edit (to edit his/her details) and Confirm and Submits (Data cannot be modified after it) gets enabled on page. 8: As user clicks on Confirm and Submits, he/she get confirmation message. 9: As soon as registration of user is over, it will appear in the list of new registration of respective role to Respective Admin. 10: Once Respective Admin approves to user, that became active & user can login.

Part B (Registration of University Administrator, College Administrator and

Apex user):

User id of these roles will be created by UGC Admin. 1: UGC Admin login using his id & password at http://eschemeugc.gov.in. After login Following page will open to his/her.

2: UGC Admin clicks on User Management menu. Following page will open to his/her

4: Admin user selects role name, enters his name, email, mobile no, password. In case of college administrator he/she also selects state list to which college administrator looks after & submit the details. User id will automatically populate to his/her & press the submit Button. 5:Admin user get confirmation message after registration. 6: To view user id of particular role, UGC admin clicks respected tab, selects section and status (New Registration, Approved, Deactive), a list like below will appear to his/her.

7: In case of new user, UGC admin can approve & edit the user.

Forgot User id/Password:

1: In case user forgets his he/she can recover it on clicking on Forgot Login Details?

2:. As user clicks on it, he/she redirected to forgetPasswordPage as shown in figure.

2: To recover password user enters login id & to recover user id user enters his email id entered at the time of

registration.

3: As users enters capcha code press submit, password/login id is sent to his registered mobile no.
