1 GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS

This manual is integral part of the ma-chine it is supplied with.

Before proceeding with installation, use and maintenance of the machine, the operator is held to read and fully understand the contents of this man-ual.

The machine is intended for profes-sional use. Always strictly follow the instructions contained in this manual and keep it in a safe, dry place for fu-ture reference.

The weighted, equivalent sound pres-sure level is below 70 dB.

After having unpacked the machine, verify its integrity. In case of damage or doubts about the packaging, con-tact the Service Centre.Handle the machine with care to pre-vent the risk of impacts or falls that may cause damage.

Keep packaging parts (box, inner pro-tections, etc.) out of reach of children since they are potentially dangerous. Do not dump those parts into the en-vironment, but dispose them accord-ing to applicable regulations.

NOTE

This symbol on the product or on the packaging indicates that the product shall not be treated as household waste, as it shall be delivered to an authorised waste collection point for recycling of electric and electronic de-vices.

For more detailed information about recycling of this product, contact the local authority, the local waste dispos-al service.

Do not position the machine in close proximity of water jets or heat sourc-es. Avoid the direct contact with water or other liquids also during cleaning.

Do not expose the machine to weath-er conditions (sun, rain, etc.).

Before plugging the machine in, make sure the power switch is on “0” posi-tion.For electric safety of the machine, it is necessary to provide a ground-ing system complete with a residual current circuit breaker (max IDN = 30mA).Before connecting the device, make sure the data on the plate correspond to the power mains.The Manufacturer declines any liabili-ty for failure to comply with the above or for damages caused by the failure to properly ground.

Unroll the power cord for its entire length to prevent the risk of danger-ous overheating.

The electrical system must be equipped with an omnipolar switch, in compliance with the applicable safety regulations, with contact opening gap and allowing the complete disconnec-tion in the conditions of the overvolt-age category III.

Unplug the machine for any interven-tion of routine maintenance or check-ing.

WARNING

Do not pull the pow-er cord to unplug the machine from the electric socket.

The machine can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and per-sons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of ex-perience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the machine.

Remove the water tank from the ma-chinewhenitistobefilledorforanyother checking operation.

Never touch the hot parts of the ma-chine.

Never touch the machine when hands or other body parts are wet.

Never immerse the machine in water.

The machine delivers high-tempera-ture drinks. Avoid the risk of burns.

The machine is intended only for the purpose set forth in this manual. Any other use is considered as improper.The Manufacturer declines any liabil-ity for damage to things and/or per-sons arising from an improper use of the machine.

In case of fault or malfunctioning of the machine, switch it off and unplug.

In case of power cord damage, have it replaced by the Manufacturer, his authorized technical Service Centre or skilled personnel to prevent any risk.

For repairing, contact only a Service Centre authorised by the Manufac-turer and require the use of original spare parts and accessories. Failure to comply with the above regulations could jeopardise machine safety.

For any communication regarding failures or malfunctioning, contact the nearest Service Centre, indicating the model, the type and the serial number of the machine. The data are shown on the apposite data plate.

In case the machine is not used any longer, render it inoperative.

NOTE

When required and in case of operations not described in this man-ual, contact the near-est Service Centre or the Manufacturer.

3 INTRODUCTION

This manual is a basic component for the use of the machine. It contains instructions and information about handling and usage of the machine in safety.

3.1 SYMBOL DESCRIPTION

DANGER

It indicates a serious danger for the opera-tor that may cause se-vere injury or death.

ATTENTION

It indicates a poten-tially dangerous situ-ation for the operator that may cause se-vere injury.

WARNING

It indicates a poten-tially dangerous situ-ation that may cause minor injury or ma-chine damage.

NOTE

It points out notes or operation procedures that helps the oper-ator when using the machine.

3.2 USER TYPES

ATTENTION

Only the CARIMALI TECHNICIAN or a SKILLED TECHNI-CIAN have a shut-off key, which allows the access to moving parts or hot parts. Be very careful during the maintenance or repairing procedures.

3.3 INTENDED USE

The “BLUEDOT” machine was de-signed and manufactured for dis-pensing hot drinks, such as:

● Coffee ● Instant products ● Tea ● Milk.

The machine is intended for profes-sional use, such as:

● Refreshment areas in shops ● Refreshment areas in offices ● Refreshment areas in other envi-

ronments ● Holiday farms ● Hotels ● Motels ● Bed & Breakfast.

ATTENTION

The machine is not intended for outdoor use.

3.3.1 Reasonably foreseeable misuse

WARNING

In order to ensure safety of the operator and the machine, it is strictly forbidden to use the machine in a different manner from that indicated in this manual.

6 RESIDUAL RISKS

The Manufacturer pre-sets all neces-sary measures to ensure operator’s safety when using the machine.

Anyway, some inconveniences may occur in certain conditions and/or sit-uations.

The causes may be: ● Operator not suitably trained and/

or experienced. ● Machine misuse. ● Use of foodstuffs close to their

expiry date or already expired. ● Use of non-certified foodstuffs. ● Use of non-original spare parts. ● Unauthorized modifications on

the machine. ● Improper maintenance of the ma-

chine.

In case of prolonged storage at a temper-ature below 2 °C, empty the machine hydraulic system.Do not switch the ma-chine on before hav-ing reconditioned it for at least 1 hour at a suitable room temper-ature. If it is installed in areas with room temperature above 30 °C, malfunctioning may occur.

For a proper use of the machine, in case of water connection, install an external sof-tener filter, otherwise use the appropriate CARIMALI filter (with adapter if request) when the machine is equipped with tank.

WARNING

The connection to water mains must be performed by a skilled technician in compliance with ap-plicable regulations.To prevent damages to hydraulic system, the optimal range of the water inlet from the mains is between 8 and 10 French De-grees.

10 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

DANGER

The intervention of routine maintenance and cleaning must be performed by the oper-ator only after:

● having switched the machine off

● having disconnect-ed the machine power supply, by unplugging it

● having closed the tap upstream of the water mains connection (if available on the machine version)

● having awaited the cooling time of the machine.

The operator must al-ways use protective gloves to prevent abra-sions.

WARNING

Do not pull the pow-er cord or the ma-chine itself to unplug the machine from the electric power socket.

Each operation re-quiring disassembly of the machine parts must be performed by a skilled techni-cian.

10.1 EXTERNAL CLEANING

10.1.1 TFT cleaning

Do not use alcohol, solvents or abrasive agents to carry out this operation.

10.1.2 Cleaning of chrome-plated surfaces

WARNING

For cleaning the chrome-plated surfac-es, use a damp cloth, an antistatic cloth or similar. Do not use abrasive agents to car-ry out this operation.

10.1.3 Cleaning of machine surfacesProceed with the daily external clean-ing of the machine using a cloth damp-ened with water and dry thoroughly.

WARNING

Do not use solvents, chlorine-based prod-ucts or abrasive agents to carry out this opera-tion. Do not clean the machine with direct water jets. Never im-merse the machine in water or other liquids.

10.1.4 Cleaning of solid/liquid grounds container

Wash with care to prevent the prolifera-tion of bacteria.

10.1.5 Cleaning of instant products/coffee bean containers

Carry out the following procedures for cleaning the containers of instant products and coffee beans:

10.2 CLEANING OF FUNCTIONAL UNITS10.2.1 Espresso unit cleaning

Required tools: ● Cleaning brush ● Hot water solution and cleaning

agents ● Clean table.

Carry out the following procedures for cleaning the functional units:

● Put the unit in “Home” position by switching the machine off and then on again.

● Disconnect the discharge hose “A” from the infusion unit or the dispensing arm.

● Remove the Espresso unit by pulling it forwards, after having locked it through the blue lever “B”.

● Disconnect the coupling and the hose by pressing the key “A”.

● Remove the filter/coffee press head from the espresso dispens-ing unit “A”+”B”+”C”.

● Clean the filter/coffee press head thoroughly with warm water and cleaning agents.

NOTE

If water is too hot, the lubricant in the unit may be removed.

For cleaning the components, make sure the inner chan-nels and edges are cleaned and rinsed.

● Insert a brush between the body and the toothed wheel.

● Turn the toothed wheels while keeping water below.

● Put the filter/coffee press head on the rear side, into the espresso coffee unit.

NOTE

Make sure the toothed wheels are aligned properly.

● Re-install the infusion unit of the espresso and re-connect the hos-es.

● Carry out the purification by dis-pensing some test products.

10.2.2 Fresh Brew unit cleaning

For cleaning this unit, only the purification function, which can be selected from the TFT, is available.

In case specific main-tenance or repairing is required, contact a skilled technician.

10.2.3 Mixer cleaning

● Close the nozzles “A” of the prod-uct container.

● Disconnect the dispensing fun-nel “B” from the instant product container by rotating clockwise, slightly tap on the funnel to re-move any residues of dust.

● Release the mixer case by rotat-ing the bayonet ring “E”.

● Remove the mixer “D” and the lid “C” by pulling forwards.

● Disconnect the hoses.

● Separate the mixer and the lid. Wash them with running water and dry thoroughly.

NOTE

Make sure the water injectors are clean and without any ob-structions. It could be necessary to clean the water inlet part of the mixer.

● Re-position the mixer, the lid and the funnel onto the container.

● Open the product container noz-zle.

10.2.4 Cleaning of milk/milk frother system

● Clean the circuit of milk and milk frother by dispensing hot water mixed with the milk frother clean-er CARIMALI through the appo-site key on the display.

● Brush the milk frother to remove any residue left.

● Dispense only hot water again to clean the circuit of milk and milk frother definitively.

Perform cleaning at least on a daily basis. If milk is not kept in an apposite fridge on the machine side, is to be put in the fridge after use.

11 TROUBLESHOOTING
